Where is Shantou in Guangdong?
Shantou is in the east of Guangdong Province. The earliest special economic zone in China, known as "the gateway of Shandong and the hub of South China", is one of the five special economic zones in China, an important port city in the south, an open coastal city and a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.

Shantou is located at 1 16 14' to1719' east longitude and 23 02' to 23 38' north latitude, at the southern end of Hanjiang River Delta, bordering Raoping, Chaozhou in the northeast.

Shantou is located at the important node of the "Greater Pearl River Delta" and "Pan-Pearl River Delta" economic circles, and it is an important connection point between Xiamen-Zhang Quan Delta (note: Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou coastal economic open zones), Pearl River Delta and the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait, and has a unique geographical advantage as the gateway to the Asia-Pacific region. The urban area is 0/87 nautical miles from Hongkong/KLOC-and 0/80 nautical miles from Kaohsiung/KLOC-in Taiwan Province Province. Shantou Port is adjacent to the Western Pacific International Golden Waterway, less than 200 nautical miles from Hongkong and Kaohsiung, Taiwan Province Province.
