Traditional Chinese medicine is the general name of all ethnic medicines in China, including Han and minority medicines. It reflects China people's understanding of life, health and diseases. It has a long history and tradition, a unique medical and pharmaceutical system, and theoretical and technical methods.
Traditional Chinese medicine, also known as Chinese pharmacy, originated from the Han nationality and was founded by ancient Han scholars. It is also an integral part of Chinese culture. Besides Chinese medicine, there are Tibetan medicine, Miao medicine, Dai medicine, Uygur medicine, Mongolian medicine and Korean medicine in China.
The basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine is a theoretical summary of human life activities and diseases, which mainly includes the theories of yin and yang, five elements, luck, dirty images, meridians and so on, as well as etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, syndrome differentiation, treatment, prevention and health preservation.
Yin and Yang belong to the category of China's ancient philosophy. Yin-yang theory holds that everything in the universe has two aspects, namely Yin and Yang, which are both opposite and unified, and constantly moving and interacting. This kind of movement and interaction is the root of the movement and change of everything. The ancients called this constant movement and change "biochemical infinity"
Su Wen said that Yin and Yang should be like a big theory: "Yin and Yang are the way of heaven and earth (the existence of unity of opposites is the fundamental law of all things), and the law of all things (everything cannot exist against this law) lies in changing parents (the change of things is formed by the constant movement and interaction of Yin and Yang);
Birth, old age, illness and death all start from this fundamental law (the production and destruction of things all come from this fundamental law), and so does the temple of God (this is where all the secrets of nature lie), so the treatment must be based on this (so if you want to treat diseases, you must solve it from this fundamental problem-Yin and Yang). It is expounded that the growth, development and extinction of all things in the universe are the result of the continuous movement and interaction of Yin and Yang.
Therefore, the theory of Yin and Yang has become a way of thinking to understand and master the laws of nature. Medicine belongs to the category of natural science, and it is believed that the physiological activities of the human body and the occurrence and development of diseases cannot go beyond yin and yang. Therefore, in order to master the development process of the disease, explore the essence of the disease and obtain satisfactory curative effect, we must explore the changes of yin and yang in the human body.
The theory of five elements generalizes the attributes of different things in the objective world with five philosophical categories: wood, fire, earth, gold and water, and uses the dynamic model of five elements to explain the laws of mutual connection and transformation of things.
"Five Elements Theory" refers to the movement and changes of these five substances and their interrelations, and uses mutual generation and mutual restriction as reasoning tools to explain the mutual relations and movement changes of things. Traditional Chinese medicine mainly uses the theory of five elements to explain the functional relationship between five zang-organs and the mechanism of diseases when zang-fu organs are out of balance, and also to guide the treatment of zang-fu organs diseases.
Luck theory, also known as five movements and six qi, is a theory to study and explore the influence of astronomical, meteorological and climate changes in nature on human health and diseases. The Five Games include wood transportation, fire transportation, earth transportation, gold transportation and water transportation, and refer to the seasonal cycle of spring, summer, autumn and winter in nature.
Six qi are six climatic factors: stroke, cold, heat, dampness, dryness and fire all year round. Luck theory is based on astronomical calendar parameters to calculate the annual climate change and disease occurrence law.
The theory of viscera mainly studies the physiological functions and pathological changes of five zang-organs (heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney), six fu-organs (small intestine, large intestine, stomach, bladder, gallbladder and triple energizer) and odd fu-organs (brain, marrow, bone, pulse, gallbladder and daughter cells).
Meridian theory is closely related to viscera theory. Meridian is the channel of qi and blood circulation in human body, which has the function of communicating inside and outside and networking the whole body. In pathological state, the function of meridian system changes, which will present corresponding symptoms and signs. Through these manifestations, we can diagnose visceral diseases in vivo.
