Brief introduction of raw stone flower another name of raw stone flower

Stone flower, stone grass, elephant hoof, gold ingot, fairy, donkey flower.

Growth habits of raw stone flowers

Raw stone flowers like the climate of warm winter and cool summer, and are suitable for growing in a warm, dry and sunny environment. Afraid of low temperature and strong light, the suitable growth temperature is 10~30℃, and it is suitable for growing in loose and breathable neutral sandy loam.

The growth form of raw stone flower is special, and it will shed its skin when it is dormant. Reducing water properly in winter and summer is helpful for molting.

3-4-year-old original stone flowers bloom in yellow, white, pink and other colors from the gap between opposite leaves in autumn, and most of them open in the afternoon, close in the evening and open again the next afternoon. A flower can bloom for 3-7 days. When it blooms, the flowers almost cover the whole plant, which is very beautiful. Moreover, some varieties will grow independently after reaching the age limit. After the flowers wither, they bear fruit and can harvest small seeds.

The moral of raw stone flower

The meaning of raw stone flower is tenacious, a gem of life, and a sheep in wolf skin.

When will the original stone flower bloom? How long can the original stone flower bloom?

Generally, the original stone flower can bloom after three years. Usually, most varieties are around 10, and some will bloom in June. Some varieties, such as c 188, can blossom independently. Of course, flowering or not is related to many factors in the early stage. It may be that the nutrition supply is insufficient or the environment is not suitable during the flower bud differentiation, so it will not bloom. Of course, if the flower is too long, the pedicel will not stick out and it will be dumb.

What should I pay attention to when I want to collect seeds after the stone flowers bloom?

Under normal circumstances, the original stone flower blooms at three or four o'clock in the afternoon, because it is necessary to avoid the exposure at noon and reduce transpiration. If two original stone flowers have the same flowering period, they can be pollinated. The flowering period of each flower is about six days, and the pollen will mature in about three days. In order to ensure successful pollination, we still need artificial pollination. If there are no flowers that bloom at the same time, we can collect the pollen that blooms first and keep it in the refrigerator. After the second flower blooms, we can pollinate it with the pollen of the first flower. If there are two flowers with similar flowering periods, the early one waits for the late one and the late one catches up, this is also their self-adaptation to nature.

Flower friends talk about the cultivation method of raw stone flowers.

Seeding and propagation is the main means of propagation of raw stone flowers. Of course, they can also be propagated by cutting roots and dividing plants, but the division propagation of raw stone flowers is much more difficult than that of pear plants. Moreover, Lamian Noodles is basically a large group. Based on the characteristics of slow growth and difficult division of original stone flowers, those large clusters of original stone flowers are rare and precious (plant division is not recommended).

It is not difficult to grow raw stone flowers. The well-preserved seeds collected in the previous year are the most suitable seeds for sowing, because fresh seeds often have many problems during germination and sowing (note: this is what we call seeds without after-ripening). If the seed clip is stored in a dry and dark environment, even after 10 years, the seeds can still be full of germination vitality.

I chose an organic-free medium as the sowing medium. Pure volcanic rocks are usually used for sowing. If there are not enough volcanic rocks, you can also choose gravel or other pebbles with a diameter of 1-4mm for sowing.

But in any case, their pH value should not exceed 7 (note: most apricot plants like acidic environment). I don't use any organic media such as peat or garden soil for sowing, because they often carry insects or harmful fungi.

In order to ensure that the roots of seedlings can directly penetrate into the medium instead of crawling on the medium, it is necessary to avoid fine particles and dust in the sowing medium. This is another reason why I don't use garden soil and peat (Note: China horticulture prefers to use peat culture medium, because it contains suitable organic matter and good air permeability, thus helping plants get the best growth rate.

Strict Germans prefer to be foolproof, which is why they guarantee extremely high plant quality.

Preparation of raw stone flowers before sowing

Before sowing, we need to disinfect the culture medium to prevent the outbreak of pests and diseases in the later period. I usually use high temperature disinfection, that is, heating plant materials to 200 degrees Celsius for an hour. (Note: I only soaked the culture medium in potassium permanganate once for family reasons. Friends who disinfect with microwave ovens should avoid using wet media to prevent heating dry media, which may easily lead to spontaneous combustion.

Before sowing, put the sterilized culture medium into the sowing container, and then completely wet the culture medium with rainwater. Tap water without saline-alkali calcium can also be used. After that, sow the seeds on the surface of the wet medium, and don't cover the soil (note: cover the soil to see my personal feeling. I still cover the soil when sowing, and it is not recommended for novices to cover the soil for sowing. The planting density is almost 1 m2 10000 seeds. Of course, this density can be achieved for a long time without transplanting seedlings. Then cover the sowing container with a transparent sheet, seal the sowing environment, increase the humidity, and put the pot in the shade, that is, where there is no direct sunlight. Keep the internal temperature around 15 degrees, and do not exceed 20 degrees (note: this is the German sowing method, and according to our own experience, the sowing temperature of raw stone flowers of 25 degrees may be a better choice).

Seeding on windowsill (at home) is generally better than sowing in greenhouse. Because the temperature in the greenhouse or shed is too high and the direct sunlight is too strong, family sowing can also bring a good temperature difference between day and night, and the temperature difference can also help the seeds germinate. After two weeks of stuffy cultivation, the germination stage can almost be over, and the seedlings can be exposed for ventilation management.

Maintenance of Seeding Seedlings of Original Stone Flowers

In the first few weeks after uncovering the seedlings, it is necessary to spray water several times a day, so as not to let the surface dry thoroughly. At the same time, gradually increase the light intensity, but in the first year of planting, we must avoid full sunshine in hot and sunny weather, which may bring a devastating blow.

Try not to use chemicals, and do not use chemical fertilizers for seedlings under one year old. With the growth of plants, we should strengthen the intensity and quantity of light, but don't forget to do a good job of shading in high temperature, sunny and hot weather. Here, the author wrote a sentence: lighted hops need shade all their lives. I guess this means that, in fact, many desert tropical plants depend on some shelters around them for their survival. If your climate brings good sunshine all year round, then you don't need to do much shading work.

In contrast, after a long and dark winter in Germany, raw stone flowers are likely to die in the spring sunshine within an hour.

Raw stone flowers can grow well under proper shading, and some large-scale breeding gardens also adopt shading methods to cultivate raw stone flowers. Plants cultivated in this way usually grow faster and fatter, but they often grow taller and softer (note: what we call virtual length). Under this culture condition, the color performance of the original stone flower is often poor. If you compare a plump green Yu Lihong with a small plant with bright red and black stripes and a yellow skin, you will find a great difference brought by good lighting. That's why I only shade plants when necessary.

Does raw stone flower need fertilization?

Raw stone flowers hardly need any fertilizer. I use a liquid fertilizer, n: p: k = 8: 8: 8, which is used two or three times a year during the growing season. Like many farmers, I have increased the frequency and quantity of watering raw stone flowers, but considering the safety factors, it is recommended not to water them in hot summer. And every year from February to March, I will completely cut off water. (Note: I am also confused about the maintenance of this piece. Compared with winter dormancy, many of us began to run out of water in June+February, 5438, until March of the following year. And in the case of good ventilation, it is no problem to replenish water properly in summer.

I only used pesticides on raw stone flowers once a year during the growing period, a German pesticide called imidacloprid. Besides, I don't use any chemicals unless there is a serious pest problem.

In addition to the sowing stage, raw stone flowers like warm days and cool nights. In winter, I tried to keep the raw stone flowers alive without heating at all, but it seems that some people died. However, under the condition of planting at MINUS six degrees for two consecutive nights, my raw stone flowers also brought me a zero-loss surprise (which should be part of the experiment).
