First, the tongue
There is a method of keeping in good health, called red dragon stirring the sea. Li Shizhen, a great physician in Ming Dynasty, praised saliva, calling it "spirit liquid", "spirit water", "golden syrup" and "euphoria" of human body, which can make people "keep the essence for a long time, have a beautiful face and bright eyes and ears". Since ancient times, saliva has enjoyed the reputation of water of life.
Modern scientific research has revealed its mystery. It turns out that saliva contains amino acid mucin and globulin, amylase, lysozyme, peroxidase, catalase and other enzymes, nearly ten kinds of vitamins, minerals such as potassium, sodium and calcium, and can also synthesize extremely important hormones in human body, such as adrenocortical hormones and hormones that raise blood sugar. Although there is little content, it is very useful.
It can promote cell growth and division, accelerate the synthesis of intracellular deoxyribonucleic acid, ribonucleic acid and protein, and promote the development of muscles, teeth, eyes, bones and joints. The tongue is the seedling of the heart, the spleen meridian passes through the root of the tongue, scattered under the tongue, the kidney meridian also passes through the root of the tongue, and the liver meridian runs through the mouth and lips, so throat sounds cannot be separated from lung qi.
Tongue movement also involves ren meridian, so it is beneficial to all zang-fu organs and is an excellent way of internal adjustment.

"Red dragon" refers to the tongue of human mouth, and "sea" refers to human mouth. The so-called "red dragon stirring" is to stir with the tongue in the mouth, so that the water in the body rises to the mouth, turns into saliva through the salivary glands, and then slowly swallows it, thus achieving the purpose of fitness, disease elimination and longevity.
Third, the origin and legend of "red dragon stirring the sea"
According to legend, during the Three Kingdoms period, there was a centenarian named Huang Fulong, alert and bright, and his physical strength remained unchanged. Cao Cao, a fierce generation, asked him for advice on how to live a long life. He said: "If you want to prolong your life, you must pay homage to Yuquan." The so-called "Yuquan" is actually saliva.
Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in Tang Dynasty, recorded in Ming of Health Preservation that "washing jade gold in the morning" can cure diseases and prolong life. Every morning, when he wakes up, he will lick and grind the inner gum with his tongue in his mouth, doing 9 laps from left to right and from top to bottom. Then, the tongue licks the side gum 9 times in the same order. Until you stir up saliva with your tongue and swallow it slowly.
Li Chengyu, a modern Taoist in Wudang Mountain, was 196 years old and 108 years old. She still looks like a middle-aged woman. A reporter asked her about ways to keep healthy. She said: "There is a Yuquan next to Baiyuya, which has raised me for many years."
