Administrative divisions of Mengcheng County
When Mengcheng County was established in the first year of Tianbao in Tang Dynasty (742), it inherited Guoyang County at the beginning of Sui Dynasty and changed its name to Feishui County in the middle of Emperor Dynasty, becoming the old frontier of Mingshan County in Daye. In the first month of the third year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1864), about 700 square kilometers of land west of Tianqiao in Mengcheng County was transferred to Guoyang County, which was the first time that the administrative area of the county was greatly reduced. 1On July 9, 965, six communes belonging to Wangtuan District of this county, namely Wangtuan, Zhou Ji, Zhongtuan, Gao Chuang, Jiangtuan and Lugou, were included in the newly established Lixin County, which was the second big reduction in the territory of this county. In the thirty-seventh year of the Republic of China (1948), the county territory also changed in June, and Fang Yue and Maji areas were included in Mengqian District of Guoyang County. 1March, 938, Zaomu Bridge in this county was included in Huaiyuan County, and Gulugang was included in Fengtai County, covering an area of about 50 square kilometers. On June 30th 1984, 30 square kilometers of Laoda Xingji, Wafang, Xiangshan, Zhaowang, Daliu and Buffalo Zhou, which were originally located in the south of Cihuai New River in Mengcheng County, were included in Fengtai County. About 1 square kilometers of Guduili Village and Liuyuan Village, which were originally in Fengtai County, were included in Mengcheng County. After the above changes, today's county has been formed.

At the beginning of the founding of New China, the county was divided into 10 districts, 155 townships and 700 administrative villages. Since then, the administrative divisions of the county have been adjusted many times. At the end of 1985, the county was divided into 1 1 district and 1 town, which governed 49 townships, 2 towns (township level), 4 offices, 566 administrative villages, 6 neighborhood committees and 5,729 village (residential) groups.

Before 1986 to 1 March 19921,the county administrative divisions remained unchanged. In March 1992, 1 the district was withdrawn and merged into townships, and the county was divided into 23 townships (fields). By the end of 2003, there were 25 townships (farms) in the county, governing 562 administrative villages and 13 communities.
