Introduction:

Chongyang Wanshou Palace was built in Jin, prospered in Yuan, declined in Ming and was destroyed in Qing. This was more than 800 years ago. It is the place where Wang Zhongyang, the founder of Taoist Quanzhen School, cultivated truth and realized Taoism, and also the place where he was buried. It is the largest of the three ancestral halls of the Quanzhen Sect of Taoism in China (Beijing Baiyun Temple, Shanxi Yongle Palace and Huxian Chongyang Palace). Jin Dynasty is known as "the ancestral home of the world" and has always enjoyed the reputation of "the holy land of truth". Jin Zhangzong named it "the empty view of spirit", and Yuan Shizu named it "the Grand Chongyang Wanshou Palace". In its heyday, the imperial palace reached Laoyu River in the east, Baima River in the west, Qinling Mountain in the south and Weishui River in the north, with more than 5,000 halls, pavilions and pavilions and nearly 10,000 monks living there.

After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chongyang Palace gradually declined, and the palace area was decreasing. The existing Lingguan Hall and Qizhen Hall were rebuilt during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. There are more than 80 stone tablets related to the history of Quanzhen religion in Chongyang Palace, among which the famous ones are the Monument to the Seven True Statues of the Ancestor, the Monument to Poems Without Dreams, the Monument to the Imperial Clothes of Dayuan and the Monument to the Real Deeds of Huangyuan by Zhao Mengfu, the Monument to the Imperial Decree by Han Hemeng Hebi and the Monument to Zhong Kui Ghost Play by Daozi.

The overall building of Chongyang Palace still maintains the palace-style Ming and Qing dynasties style, and the Taoist temple is arranged on the central axis according to Taoist regulations and the history of Chongyang Palace. The single building inherits the high table style of Yuan Dynasty, and it is magnificent, showing the sacredness and dignity of Taoist ancestors, so as to meet the worship of Taoist believers at home and abroad. The east and west sides are divided into areas such as Guanbeilin, BaiChongyang Tomb, Wuzhentang, Jietai Temple, Yangshengtang, Taoist Life, etc., which together with the beautiful scenery of Penglai, such as rocks, curved bridges, bamboo shadows, pine and cypress, and sunset photos, constitute an imaginative fairyland on earth.

Today's Chongyang Palace has lost its glory, but with the characters in Jin Yong's martial arts novels The Legend of the Condor Heroes and The Condor Heroes, I believe you can find your own daydreaming sky here.
