Ethnic preparatory classes have the following requirements:
Prerequisites: Candidates must be ethnic minorities. Some provinces and cities, such as Xinjiang, have a two-year preparatory course for the examination of the Han nationality, which requires the Han nationality to take the examination in minority languages. Preparatory students enrolled in colleges and universities refer to ethnic colleges and universities designated by the state. Candidates who met the specific requirements of the national college entrance examination in that year and whose scores were below a certain level were selected on a voluntary basis.
Candidates who have studied in ethnic colleges or ordinary colleges for one year will be promoted to undergraduate or junior college directly after passing the examination. Colleges and universities organize their own preparatory graduation exams to assign majors. The preparatory classes for ethnic minorities held by ordinary universities or ethnic colleges serve the party and the country to improve the cultural level of ethnic minorities.
A special measure taken to speed up the development of socialist modernization in ethnic minority areas and remote areas and train more ethnic minority professionals only recruits ethnic minority candidates, and the enrollment subjects mainly include liberal arts and science. The admission standard shall not be lower than the minimum score of 80 points of the relevant institutions in the same batch.
Students: Students in preparatory classes and ethnic classes are limited to ethnic minority candidates who took the national unified entrance examination in ordinary colleges and universities that year. Focus on recruiting candidates from remote rural areas, alpine regions, mountainous areas and pastoral areas, and appropriately recruit minority candidates from scattered and mixed areas. The enrollment targets are divided into two types: Min Kao Min, Han Kao Min (only in some areas such as Xinjiang) for 2 years, and Min Kao Han 1 year. Many universities have preparatory students, and there are ethnic colleges all over the country.
Admission conditions for ethnic preparatory classes: frontier counties that meet the admission conditions of ordinary colleges and universities, love their hometown and are determined to contribute to the construction of their hometown, counties that implement frontier policies, poverty-stricken counties determined by the provincial people's government, ethnic autonomous counties and poverty-stricken townships determined by the administrative office and the state people's government, ethnic minority candidates or Han candidates. Ethnic minority candidates and Han candidates whose fathers (or mothers) work in units below the township level in the above-mentioned areas may apply for preparatory classes for ethnic minorities in ordinary colleges and universities.
