After the publication of Compendium of Materia Medica, there are many versions. There are 82 versions of Compendium of Materia Medica before 19 12 included in the General Catalogue of Ancient Chinese Medicine in China. From 65438 to 0606, Compendium of Materia Medica was introduced to Japan for the first time, and was reprinted in Japan for many times, which had a great influence on Japanese pharmacology.
During the period from 18 to the 20th century, it was translated into Japanese, French, English, German, Russian and other languages and widely spread, and became the research object of scholars in many fields in the West. Various versions of Compendium of Materia Medica published in Ming and Qing Dynasties were collected by many collectors in Britain, France, Germany, America, Korea, Russia, Italy and Japan.
The Compendium of Materia Medica published by Hu Chenglong in Jinling in the 21st year of Wanli of Ming Dynasty (1593) is the earliest edition of Compendium of Materia Medica and the only edition edited by the Li family so far.
Jinling Compendium of Materia Medica contains 7 volumes, including 3 volumes in Japanese, 1 USA, 1 German and 2 China, which are collected in Shanghai Library and Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Library respectively. The library of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was originally collected by Ding Jimin (19 12 ~ 1979), a famous doctor in Shanghai, and was purchased by the library of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1960s.
