Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, was founded by Sichuan Provincial People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine. It is a provincial-level key institution of higher learning with Chinese medicine as the main body, multidisciplinary cross-infiltration and coordinated development, and it is the first batch of "double-first-class" world-class discipline construction institutions in China.
The school was founded in 1956, and was renamed in 1995 with the approval of the State Education Commission under the cordial care of the first generation of leading collectives of the Party and the state such as Zhou Enlai. In June 2006, Sichuan Reproductive Health College and Sichuan Health Management Cadre College were merged into Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Medical History Museum of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the only medical and health museum in southwest China. At present, there are four basic exhibitions of Sichuan medical and health cultural relics, southwest minority medicine, Sichuan modern famous doctors and Sichuan traditional Chinese medicine works since the founding of the People's Republic of China 50 years ago, and special exhibitions on medical care are being actively prepared.
School motto:
Virtuous, knowledgeable, thoughtful and practical. Erudition comes from the golden mean: "erudition, interrogation, careful thinking, discernment and persistence." That is to say, we should have a broad academic vision, learn from others' strengths, learn from things, make the past serve the present, inject new vitality into the development of traditional Chinese medicine, and embody the educational concept of combining general education with wide-caliber professional education.
Lofty virtue comes from the Book of Changes Kun Gua, which means advocating virtue and pursuing perfection. In other words, it is necessary to inherit and carry forward the tradition of caring and helping the world in traditional Chinese medicine and cultivate a large number of people's health guards with noble medical ethics and superb medical skills, which embodies the lofty spiritual pursuit of the school.
Careful thinking means careful thinking and in-depth research. That is, adhering to the scientific spirit, pursuing truth, cultivating creative thinking ability, being good at discovery and being brave in innovation, which embodies the scientific and rigorous academic pursuit of the school.
Faith is the courage to practice and do what you do. That is, to adhere to the style of study of integrating theory with practice, and to strengthen professional practice and moral practice, which embodies the spirit of the school's courage to practice. These four aspects are interrelated, which contain equal emphasis on learning and thinking, both ability and political integrity, and unity of knowledge and action.
