In the Herbal Medicine of Dietotherapy written by Meng E in Tang Dynasty, it is recorded that eating walnut kernel can increase appetite, moisten blood vessels and make flesh and blood delicate. In the Song Dynasty, Liu Han and others recorded in Kaibao Materia Medica that eating walnut kernel can make it fat and healthy, moisten muscles, blacken hair and beard, and eat more can induce diuresis and remove five hemorrhoids. According to Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica in the Ming Dynasty, walnut kernel has the effects of invigorating qi and nourishing blood, moistening dryness and resolving phlegm, benefiting life, treating triple energizer, warming lung and moistening intestine, and treating deficiency cold, asthma and cough, severe pain in waist and feet, hernia in the heart, bloody diarrhea and intestinal wind.
Peanut (Arachis hypogaca L) Leguminosae alias: groundnut, longevity fruit and nut are native to Brazil and Peru, so they are also called fandou. It was introduced to Fujian in the Ming Dynasty. Nature and taste: sweet and flat, entering the spleen and lungs. Functions: invigorating spleen and stomach, tonifying kidney and promoting diuresis, regulating qi and promoting lactation, and treating various blood diseases.
