Zhuangzi inherited Laozi's thought of quietness, and expounded the truth that God wants quietness by taking water as an example, saying that "water is still bright, but the spirit of the environment" and that quietness and inaction can achieve the realm of longevity. Huangdi Neijing, after Laozi and Zhuangzi, put forward the idea of calming the heart and preventing diseases for the first time from the medical point of view. For example, in his "Su Wen", he said: "If there is no peace, the true qi will follow; The spirit, the disease is always safe. " The "tranquility and nothingness" here mainly means that in the aspect of tranquility, the mind is peaceful, the qi is filled inside, and the evil spirits are inviolable. During the Western Han Dynasty, Liu An attached great importance to quietness. He said in "Huai Nan Zi Yuan Tao Xun": "Life is quiet and natural." It is also pointed out that there is a close relationship between calmness and arrogance. For example, he said in "Spiritual Training": "People who are energetic and ambitious, quiet and energetic will be strong, and those who are impatient and tired will get old." Cao Tingdong, a great health care practitioner in the Qing Dynasty, said in "Old Man's Constant Words and Yanju": "Quiet is the first thing to take pictures." Because old people are experienced and easy to think, God is more mobile and difficult to be quiet. In view of this feature of the elderly, Pension Wing emphasizes: "The importance of providing for the elderly lies in not listening, not talking, not moving the body and not moving the heart, which is beneficial to the elderly."

Suppressing eyes and nourishing ears, for air, suppressing eyes is particularly important. "Old Heng Yan Yanju" said: "The heart is the home of God; Eyes are God's eyes. Because of my eyes, my heart is awkward. " It explains why when the eyes are tired and the mind is calm, we must first restrain our eyes. Of course, the eyes can't help but look and the ears can't help but listen. The key is not to blindly look and listen to satisfy selfish desires and make the air restless.

"Medical Banknotes Series" says: "Nourishing the heart leads to coagulation, coagulation leads to gas accumulation, and gas accumulation leads to perfection. If you are busy and inattentive, it is easy to get old. " Of course, this method of concentration and meditation is not ignorance, no desire, no ambition, nor is it an idle emptiness that artificially suppresses one's thoughts too much without spiritual sustenance, so it is absolutely different from idle thoughts that eat all day and have no purpose. From the perspective of health preservation, spirit is precious while disorder is evil, thought is precious and evil is scattered. Concentrated thinking is a good way to keep your mind quiet. On the contrary, as Sun Simiao said in "A thousand dollars must be fixed, and the Taoist forest must be cultivated": "Thinking too much is dangerous, thinking too much is scattered, thinking too much is fainting, and doing too much is tiring." Lv Dongbin, a Taoist priest, advocated the method of "nourishing qi in quietness and nourishing the heart in quietness", which is not unreasonable.

The third is to practice more static kung fu.

Static kungfu is a kind of Qigong, which includes two aspects: mental training and spiritual training, which is equivalent to the ancient methods of sitting, breathing, breathing and convincing. Among them, nourishing the heart (also known as adjusting the mind) is to adjust one's mental state in order to achieve the effect of promoting calm. But when you want to meditate and pranayama, you think that if you don't make your heart move, you meditate and pranayama. This is just a trick. How can you do that? " It can be seen that static kung fu is an exercise method with calming mental qi as the main destination, and calming the mind is the premise and foundation of qigong exercise. Therefore, practicing static kung fu often has a static effect.

"Keep your spirit inside and stay away from illness."

The original text of this sentence can be found in Ancient Naivety, which is also an important principle of nourishing the heart. The so-called "mental defense" mainly refers to people's ability to exercise, control and adjust their conscious thinking activities and psychological state, so as to keep it in harmony with the body and the environment without disorder. "Inside" means outside, and "keeping" means sticking to and keeping. "Nourishing the spirit" emphasizes the internal environment-the important role of mental stability in human health, that is, "being safe from illness", that is, keeping the spirit inside. How can people get sick? So, how to "keep the spirit inside"?

First, be "always on guard against God".

People with moral cultivation must always control their own spirit and deal with all kinds of things calmly and objectively. As pointed out in Shou's Theory of Nourishing the Mind: "There are some things that you haven't met before, and you can't worry too much when you meet them. If you can't stay, let it come." We should let nature take its course, let nature take its course, with anger and fear, joy and worry, and do things well. This is also a way to nourish the heart. " This is the best explanation for the specific application of "mental internal defense", and its central meaning is to ask people to take a peaceful attitude towards the external environment. This kind of person can often produce a kind of "nameless fire", which makes him depressed and irritable. In the history of ancient and modern China and foreign countries, there are many examples of tragedies caused by jealousy. There are no "great talents", only "jealous talents", which can be said to be the common feature of all jealous people and a self-centered morbid psychology. Generally speaking, the strong don't envy the weak, but not all the strong. Jealousy often occurs between two people of similar level. The fundamental way to eliminate jealousy is to establish a correct world outlook, strengthen ideological cultivation, turn envious feelings into chasing actions, and exercise benign control over feelings. It's better to "compete with each other" and "be content." The third is to be less selfish.

To be less selfish is to reduce selfish distractions; No desire is to reduce the greed for fame and wealth and material things, which is what Laozi pointed out in Tao Te Ching: "Simple and simple, selfish, no desire and no demand". Huangdi Neijing also advocates "indifference and nothingness". "Idle ambition and little desire". "Little Snow in the Red Furnace" emphasizes: "If you can keep your heart clean, you will never get sick if you do it for a long time." Facts have proved that only selfishness and no desire can keep the spirit inside. It's hard to imagine that a person who is too selfish and lustful can calm down? "Tai Shang Lao Jun's regimen" said: "Those who are good at regimen must first get rid of six evils, and then they can live a hundred years. What is this? First, fame and fortune are thin, second, it is forbidden, third, wealth and goods are cheap, fourth, poor taste, fifth, hypocrisy, and sixth, jealousy. " If the six evils are not eliminated and everything is right, can God keep it? "
