Is the method of "nourishing skin with oil" useful in Japan?
A long time ago, in cold and dry winter, people would put oil or wax on their faces to protect their skin.

Fashion is a reincarnation, in fact, it is nourishing the skin with oil.

You can often hear the saying that "skin is nourished by oil" in winter. So, is it useful to nourish the skin with oil?

1. What is nourishing skin with oil?

Nourishing the skin with oil is to replenish the skin with the oil it needs.

The outermost layer of skin is sebum membrane, and the main components of sebum membrane are cholesterol, free fatty acids and ceramide. Cholesterol and free fatty acids are actually oils.

As a sealing agent, oil can form a hydrophobic barrier on the skin surface and reduce water loss, that is, it can lock water.

Not only that, grease can also be a means of transportation.

Some functional ingredients are fat-soluble, such as vitamin E, which will be more easily absorbed by the skin when added to oil.

There are also some intuitive effects, such as skin care oil to make the skin look brighter and feel smoother.

Second, the possible negative effects of nourishing the skin with oil

Everything has two sides, and when we use skin care oil, it may also have some negative effects on the skin.

First, individual skin care oils may contain some allergic ingredients, especially some essential oil products, which may cause allergic dermatitis.

Second, skin care oil may cause acne, which is the result of multiple effects;

1) Some oils are acne-causing;

2) If it is some closed oil, it may create a more suitable environment for Propionibacterium acne;

3) Oil may provide food for Propionibacterium acne. If your skin happens to have Propionibacterium acnes at this time, it may lead to a large number of bacteria proliferation, leading to acne.

Are you suitable for nourishing skin with oil?

Skin care with oil is mainly suitable for friends with dry skin and sensitive skin.

At the same time, nourishing skin with oil is more suitable for dry winter, when the climate is dry and cold, the environmental humidity is low and the water loss on the skin surface increases.

You may feel that your skin is still very dry after applying moisturizing cream. If you apply a layer of skin care oil before applying moisturizing cream, the moisturizing effect will be much better.

But for friends with oily skin, nourishing the skin with oil may have the risk of acne.

Fourth, the precautions for nourishing the skin with oil

1. Not all oils can nourish the skin with oil.

1) Oils from plants are more suitable for nourishing skin with oil;

2) Animal fat is thick and easy to cause allergies. Generally, oil is not used to nourish the skin;

3) Natural mineral oil, represented by vaseline, is greasy and has poor skin feeling, and is not absorbed by the skin, so it is generally only used for moisturizing and cannot play a role in repairing. In addition, vaseline has strong sealing ability and may grow acne. Therefore, it is not suitable to use oil to nourish the skin.

2. It is best to keep your skin moist before using skin care oil.

1) Before using the skin care oil, it is recommended to use moisturizing water to keep the skin moist;

2) You can also apply skin care oil just after washing your face and before the skin loses moisture;

3) It is best to apply moisturizing cream after using the skin care oil, so that the moisturizing effect will last longer.

3. Choose different skin care oils according to skin condition and age.

1) Young skin, fast metabolism of epidermal cells and strong self-repair ability, so you can choose some non-irritating skin care oils;

2) The skin is too dry, even desquamation, indicating abnormal metabolism of stratum corneum. It is best to choose a skin care oil that can moisturize and repair the stratum corneum.

4. Skin care oil may not be suitable for everyone.

It is recommended to try skin care oil in a small area when you first use it. Once irritation and redness appear, stop using it in time. Don't push it because of "high cost" and "reluctance". If the symptoms are still not relieved after stopping using, it is recommended to seek medical advice in time.

Finally, I want to tell you that you should not rush to achieve some cool skin care concepts. More importantly, learn more and choose the skin care method that suits you.
