Why is Qinhuangdao called Qinhuangdao?
Qinhuangdao is called Qinhuangdao because of a legend during Qin Shihuang's eastern tour.

Qinhuangdao, located in the northeast of Hebei Province, China, is a city with a long history and rich cultural heritage. According to legend, after Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, in order to strengthen the rule of the whole country, he began to build the Lane Waterway on a large scale and traveled around the country. One day, Qin Shihuang came to the coast of the East China Sea, and suddenly a citizen of Qi stopped his car and asked for an audience. Qi people told Qin Shihuang that there are three mysterious fairy mountains in this sea area, namely Penglai, Abbot and Yingzhou.

These three fairy mountains appear and disappear. Whenever they appear, the pavilions on the mountain are faintly visible, and the sound of bells and drums is melodious. Fairy travels, drinks nectar and eats fairy medicine. Qin Shihuang listened to the description of Qi people with a grain of salt. However, out of the desire for eternal life, he decided to send someone to look for the elixir of life. Therefore, Qin Shihuang issued a decree ordering Qi people to go to Xianshan to find medicine. In order to commemorate this trip to find immortals, the locals called this sea area "Qinhuangdao".
