-Life management wisdom in Tao Te Ching

Laozi put forward a concept of "keeping frugality" in Tao Te Ching, also called "saving maintenance" and "saving care", which is an important method of life management. Laozi believes that Tao produces everything, and everything has its life cycle. Man is an artifact created by Tao. Only by careful care, careful use and attention to protecting life can we achieve health and longevity. People's management of life should be "rich", on the one hand, they should constantly save and enrich their energy; On the other hand, we should cherish the use and reduce energy consumption. This idea of keeping in good health conforms to the principles of medicine and life science, and has an important influence on the culture of keeping in good health in China.

1. Life is a lamp. When the oil runs out, the lamp will go out.

Laozi said in the fifty-ninth chapter of the Tao Te Ching: "You don't have to be stingy in governing man and nature." When I say "frugality", I mean to cherish it, and the word "frugality" has also been trained as "frugality". Nothing is more important than saving and managing the world.

Legend has it that Laozi has such a saying: "The period of life is limited to a hundred years, and those who care about it will be a thousand years old." Such as paste, small wick and big ears. Everyone talks a lot, but I say very little. Everyone was annoyed, and I remember very little. Everyone is nervous and violent, but I'm not angry. I'm not tired of personnel, I'm complacent. I think the medicine of immortality is unknown in the world. " (See Chen Heyuan's "Dandao Cultivation and Health Preservation-Wudang Dandao Life Extension Map")

Laozi said: the life span of life will end when you 100 years old. People who are good at "saving" lives can live longer. Life is like a lamp, and the length of lighting time has a kind of management wisdom. If the wick is chosen smaller and lighter, less ointment will be consumed and the service life will be longer. If the wick is picked too big and lit too brightly, the ointment will soon run out, the oil will run out, the lamp will dry up, and life will soon die.

Laozi thinks it is very important to "save" lives, one is to "save" and the other is to "protect". "frugality" means "frugality", which means "frugality". "Shou" can communicate what I call "Shou", that is, "Shou Jing", "Shou Rou" and "Shou Zhong". The words "I say little", "I remember little", "I am not angry", "I am tireless in personnel" and "I don't cultivate the righteousness of the monarch and the minister" are all frugal and protective of life, and no one in the world knows better than me. This is the secret of longevity.

Song Huizong and Evonne commented on the Tao Te Ching, saying, "Smart and knowledgeable, heaven is also. Thinking and moving, people are also. The festival of movement and quietness saves the fatigue of thinking, so it is in charge of people. Not very smart, not full of knowledge, so things are natural, this is called darkness. When the sky is dirty, take the kidney as the object, stand in a garden without loans, and be rich in wisdom, then the people will naturally rule. "

Song Huizong believes that heaven has wisdom and insight, and man has dynamic behavior and thinking. Proper exercise can save physical strength, and you won't be too tired if you don't think too much. This is the truth of self-cultivation. It is the connotation of Laozi's thought to rule the world without exerting intelligence to the extreme and exhausting all wisdom and knowledge. As soon as the acupuncture points are located in the zang-fu organs and the kidneys are maintained, the body can be in an invincible position, constantly improve its wisdom, cherish its use, cultivate its self-cultivation, govern the country and make the world peaceful, and conform to the laws of nature.

Second, the art of thrift-increase spirit, increase desire and increase food.

Lao Tzu's basic methods of "frugality" are frugality, frugality and frugality. These are three aspects that people must do in order to save money and manage their lives. In the current words, it is to do "subtraction" to achieve the purpose of health preservation by reducing mental expenditure, personal desire and overeating.

"God of saving money" is the first essence of saving money. Spending less money means increasing, and "increasing spirit" means cherishing spirit and saving energy. Laozi said, "Loud voices are audible." People should talk less, let alone speak loudly, because it is hard to speak loudly. He also said: "It is better to stay in the middle than to talk too much." Talking too much is easy to cause trouble, so it is better to keep silent. From the perspective of health preservation, these two sentences of Laozi are about "saving your energy", which means that people should cherish their own lives and not waste their energy.

Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty, lived 100 years old. In his health care experience, the most important one is: "people's longevity lies in festivals." Bottle, that is, suppression. He believes that people's essence, qi and spirit are limited, and only by restraining consumption and saving energy as much as possible can they live longer.

Secondly, to "increase desire", people should be abstinent. Laozi said: "Five colors are blind, five tones are deaf, five flavors are refreshing, and hunting is crazy, and rare goods harm people." This is a saint who doesn't care about his stomach, so he went to another place to put this. "It means colorful makes people dizzy, noisy sounds make people deaf, delicious food makes people lose their sense of taste, running and hunting make people crazy, and rare things make people behave badly. Therefore, saints only seek contentment, do not pursue sensual pleasures, abandon external temptations, and only obtain things that are beneficial to physical and mental health.

I don't advocate abstinence, but I advocate abstinence. People should think less and desire less. If they think too much, they will resent too much, desire too much, and be disappointed too much, which will not only hurt their bodies and minds, but also lead to health and longevity.

"Tai Ping Guang Ji" said: "The way to cultivate life is not tiring, except lust, and harmony with God." The way to maintain health is to get rid of bad habits, get rid of too many desires, cherish the spirit and keep a peaceful mind so as not to hurt the body.

Thirdly, eat less and don't eat too much. Laozi said: "It is also in the Tao, saying it is redundant." It means: from the way of keeping in good health, eating when you are full will increase the burden on your body. Laozi's statement is scientific. If you eat less, there will be less "food toxins" left in your body, which will also reduce the burden on your stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys and heart.

Lao Tzu also said, "If you have less, you will get it, but if you have more, you will be confused." If you take less, you can get more, and if you are greedy, you will be confused. Professor Zhao Lin, a nutritionist, said that he ate with the old people who lived in Bama for a long time. The old people ate quickly, not because they ate fast, but because they ate very little at a meal. At present, longevity people and researchers all over the world accept the view that "the less you eat, the longer you live" on the premise of ensuring nutrition. If you don't control your diet and eat and drink, you will get sick; Greedy people die easily.

Third, serve early, serve early and benefit early.

Laozi said in the fifty-ninth chapter of Tao Te Ching: "A husband who is stingy is called early service." From the management wisdom of oil lamps, we know the management wisdom of life. Now that you understand this truth, you should take it early and put it into action as soon as possible, because taking it early can make people healthier and live longer.

Sun Simiao (58 1-682), a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty, also used the image of oil lamp to interpret the "frugality" of health preservation. He believes that human nature is like oil in an oil lamp, and the activity of life is like the brilliance of a lamp. Everyone has about the same amount of oil. If you don't pay attention to saving, just like an oil lamp with a big wick, the oil will soon run out and its life will be short. If you pay attention to saving, it is like using a small wick, the oil is used slowly, the lights are turned off slowly, and the life is naturally prolonged.

With regard to the essentials of frugality, Sun Simiao thinks that we should control sexual intercourse, be quiet in mind, have no delusions in mind, think less, desire less, worry less, do less good, do less evil, ignore fame and fortune and right and wrong, and minimize the loss of essence.

In the history of China, there were 335 emperors from Qin Shihuang to the last emperor Puyi, and the average life span of these emperors was only 4 1 year. It stands to reason that the emperor's living and medical conditions are the best. Why didn't he live long? Apart from the factors of abnormal death, there are three main reasons: First, there is general overwork, and the load and pressure of being an emperor far exceed the imagination and endurance of ordinary people. Qin Shihuang had to read 120 Jin of bamboo slips every day to rest, and Zhu Yuanzhang had to read more than 200 copies of the memorial every day on average and handle more than 400 affairs of state. Second, there are 3,000 beautiful women in the emperor's harem, and there are groups of concubines. They have sex almost every day, which consumes too much energy, seriously overdraws their health and has hurt their vitality. Third, there is great psychological pressure. The emperor is in the center of power, and the power struggle is very cruel. There is intrigue between the royal family and mutual suspicion between the monarch and the minister, which leads to the emperor's bad psychology such as suspicion, tension, jealousy, anxiety and irritability.

There is also an anti-scientific lifestyle in modern society, that is, "making money desperately when you are young, and spending money to save your life when you are old." When you were young, you used too much physical and mental energy to make money, which destroyed the balance of your body, led to decreased immunity, and produced many root causes. Then you used the money you earned to save lives and restore health. You know, there are too many overdrafts, and it is impossible to completely repair them. Money can't buy health or life. Only by managing life scientifically and using physical strength and brain power reasonably and moderately can we live a safe, healthy and long life.

Laozi's concept of "frugality" provides us with a scientific way of life management. It lets us know that God is the fairest. It gives everyone the same fuel. There is no gas station in the journey of life. Be thrifty about the amount of oil God gives you, so that the lamp of life can burn longer, not brighter. This is the health care wisdom that Laozi gave you, and it is the truth that "weakness is better than strength".
