Nanguan Lane Historic District is located in the southeast of Shi Xia Town, Haining City, starting from Dayao Bridge in the north, Tangqiao and Huiyuan Temple in the south, Luotang River in the east and Renmin Road in the west. It is more than 350 meters long from north to south and 50 meters wide from east to west, with a total area of about 1.7 hectares. At present, Shixia Town is characterized by maintaining the street style in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the south of the Yangtze River, which is relatively well preserved and is one of the few historical blocks. Walking through the block, you can vaguely trace back to the old appearance of Jiangnan folk houses. The front shop and the back square, living by the river, are integrated with business and residence, showing the typical architectural style of Jiangnan. Simple shops and elegant residential areas facing the street reflect the social, psychological and cultural form of "wealth is not exposed" Blocks paved with bluestone slabs can evoke childhood memories from here, which is the continuation of a city's historical context. In 2006, Nanguanxiang block was listed as a provincial historical and cultural block. Nanguanxiang block is historically composed of Baoxiu Square and Jinxiu Square. Now the whole block has well preserved the historical features and traditional pattern of integration of commerce and residence, front shop and back river, small bridges and flowing water. The old street runs north and south, and the streets are paved with bluestone slabs. The houses and shops on both sides of the street basically retain the typical street pattern and style characteristics of Jiangnan towns in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Shops on the east side of the block face the Luotang River parallel to the street, which is the main waterway of the rice market. The block was built along the Luotang River, and the houses were mainly in the east-west direction, mainly in the second floor, mostly from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. Among them, the buildings on the riverside side are relatively simple, mainly consisting of two courtyards, and the houses on the inner side of the street are more elegant, mainly consisting of multiple courtyards. There are as many as six deepest courtyards, the first one is generally a storefront, which is relatively simple, and the last few courtyards are more elegant and beautifully carved. There are many kinds, including buildings, animals, lanterns and lanterns. In recent years, there are teapot lanterns and vase lanterns, which have always been called "the exotic flowers in the south of the Yangtze River" and are unique and representative among small and medium-sized lanterns in China. Over the years, there have been extensive exchanges at home and abroad and frequent awards. In June 2006, Shi Xia Lantern Festival was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage.
