According to historical records, as early as the Eastern Zhou Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago, today's Anqing Buried Hill City in Anhui Province is the Anhui State facing down from Zhou Wang, controlled by Dr. Wanbo. Tianzhu Mountain is the fief of Wan Ren, so it is also called "Wanshan". Dr. Wanbo was clean and virtuous, and he managed Anhui well. Later generations remembered him and called him "Wan Gong Shan", which is the origin of Anhui's abbreviation "Wan". The discovery of Xuejiagang cultural site, a representative of prehistoric civilization in the Yangtze River valley, proves that this area was an important place for human activities in Anhui Province as early as 5,000 years ago. Qianshan County (Wancheng) is known as the "ancient capital of Anhui" and has been the residence of counties, prefectures and governments for nearly 800 years from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty.
According to Records of the Historian, in the fifth year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 106), Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, went to the south to pay tribute to Tianzhu, Nanyue, posthumous title. It was not until 700 years later that Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty changed Hengshan to "Nanyue" in order to consolidate southern Xinjiang. Since then, there have been two "Nanyue Mountains" in China: Tianzhu Mountain in Anhui and Hengshan Mountain in Hunan. Tianzhu Mountain is honored as the "Sect of Nanyue" and later called "Ancient Nanyue".
Tianzhu Mountain is the largest Dojo in the world, and the so-called immortal cave house in Taoism is listed as "the 14th cave and the 57th blessed land". At the same time, it is also the place where the second, third and fourth ancestors of Buddhism give lectures. For thousands of years, many famous Taoist monks have lectured and preached in this land, collecting medicines and refining alchemy, leaving countless magical legends. Like the alchemy lake on the mountain, it is the place where Zuo Ci, an unknown Taoist in the Han Dynasty, cultivated immortality and attained enlightenment. Sanzu Temple is even honored as the ancestral hall of Zen Buddhism. During the heyday of the Tang and Song Dynasties, there were no fewer than 100 temples built here, and there was a saying of "3,000 Taoist priests and 800 monks". Incense is at its peak, and pilgrims gather everywhere, showing the bustling scene of "Biwa Zhulan holding crimson clouds and Ziyun floating around the treasure wind".
Tianzhu Mountain is the birthplace of Peking Opera and the hometown of Huangmei Opera among the five major operas in China. Cheng Changgeng, the originator of Peking Opera, and Han Zaifen, a performer of Huangmei Opera, grew up in this land. In the buried hill, Huangmeixiang has been handed down from generation to generation, and people here, men, women and children, will hum a few words of Huangmeixi. Born in this land, the well-known love story of the Seven Fairies of the Three Kingdoms, Peacock Flying Southeast and Er Qiao is more vivid and euphemistic after the interpretation of Huangmei Opera.
Tianzhu Mountain has excellent ecology and beautiful scenery, with a forest coverage rate of 98%, which makes the content of negative oxygen ions in the air 20 times that of international standards.
