Shenyang, formerly known as Shengjing and Fengtian, is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital city, sub-provincial city, mega-city and the core city of Shenyang metropolitan area under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province, a central city in the northeast of China, and an important national industrial base and advanced equipment manufacturing base approved by the State Council. As of 202 1, Shenyang has 10 districts and 2 counties, 1 county-level cities, with a total area of 12860 square kilometers. By the end of 20021,the permanent population of Shenyang was 9 1 1.8 million.
Shenyang is a national historical and cultural city, the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty, and is known as "one birthplace, the capital of two emperors". 1625, the Qing emperor nuerhachi moved the capital here, and Huang taiji built a prosperous capital here and established the Qing Dynasty in China. Shenyang became the imperial capital of Shengjing, one of the two major capitals of Qing Dynasty, and began to become the central city of Northeast China.
Climatic characteristics
Shenyang has a temperate humid continental climate with four distinct seasons, and the annual rainfall is unevenly distributed, with precipitation mostly concentrated in June-August. Therefore, June to August is the prone period of geological disasters. However, collapses, landslides and debris flows easily induced by precipitation are mainly distributed in hilly areas. Therefore, hilly areas are prone to natural geological disasters.
