The college is located on the banks of the Hengjiang River in Xiuning County, covering an area of more than 300 mu, with a construction area of 80,000 square meters and a total investment of 380 million yuan. The first batch offered five majors: nursing, midwifery, rehabilitation technology, health management and Chinese medicine health care, with strong teachers, including Chen Mingjia, Lu, Wang Deyou, Yang Yi, Wang Yixian, Hu and Fang Linxiang.
Xiuning County, where Huangshan Health Vocational College is located, is the "No.1 Scholar in China" and is rich in cultural resources. From the tenth year of Jiading in the Song Dynasty (12 17) to the sixth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1880), Xiuning produced 19 scholars, ranking first among all counties in China. Dai Zhen (now Tunxi District), Cheng Dawei, a master of abacus, Wang Yanni, Wang, Ding, Hu and Haiyang, and Wu Xiang, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) and former consultant of the State Council Rural Economic Development Research Center, were all from Xiuning.
