Taoist medicine and Chinese medicine can be said to develop in parallel. Different from traditional Chinese medicine, Taoism is not only acupuncture, moxibustion, scraping and other means. There is also the unique method of persuasion, guidance and even the conclusion of an elixir by Taoism. Similarly, Taoism pays more attention to the connection between man and nature and the communication between heaven and earth. On the other hand, Taoist health care pays more attention to the lofty realm of harmony between man and nature through spiritual cultivation and reasonable lifestyle. Taoist health preservation also embodies the philosophy of doing things and survival, which not only tests whether people can persistently adhere to the method of cultivation, but also pays more attention to whether people can always maintain a quiet, immature and indisputable baby-like state of mind. It can also be said that this is essentially different from ordinary Chinese medicine and western medicine.
The Taoist idea of keeping in good health is reflected in Tao Te Ching. The old gentleman said: be empty and be quiet, which fully embodies the two characteristics of Taoist health preservation: empty and quiet. Since then, Taoist health books have emerged one after another. For example, "Bao Puzi's Inner Chapter" and "The Story of Deng Yin Zhen" are not detailed here. Finally, a complete set of Taoist health preservation theory was formed.
