Eating before a whim, not eating when a whim occurs, and not eating after a whim is good for the body and meditation. Therefore, not eating after noon is a fasting method, and the real fasting is eating after noon.
It is not easy to really skip lunch. Without kung fu, I am not used to it, and I will be hungry at night. This is your hungry ghost. When you feel hungry, you know what it tastes like. Hungry fire happens when you are hungry, and it is easiest to show anger when you are hungry. Hungry people are desperate to rob, kill and do whatever it takes. So you might as well try fasting. If you are used to not eating after noon, that is very good. If you don't talk about monasticism, it's good for your health.
