How to make sows have more pigs?
There are several aspects to improve the self-farrowing rate of sows.

1. Select high-yield sow varieties.

Imported pigs have the advantages of high feed conversion rate and fast growth rate, which are deeply loved by pig farmers, but most imported pigs have poor litter rate. It is still a dream to understand the litter rate of Landrace pigs and other breeds. Pig farmers can first cultivate binary pigs with Landrace as female parent and Zhiming pig as male parent, and then produce Duroc ternary commercial pigs with Landrace binary pigs as female parent and Duroc pigs as male parent. If it contains the genes of Duroc pig or other pigs with low litter rate, you should not keep sows.

Domestic high-yield local pigs or local pigs as female parents can greatly improve the litter rate, but the conversion rate, growth rate and lean meat rate of commercial pig feed produced are not as good as those of imported pigs, but it is also a good choice for small and medium-sized pig farmers!

2. Keep the sow in excellent precursor state.

Fattening or stranding of sows will affect the farrowing rate, so it is advisable to maintain the excellent mating precursor conditions of sows, and 70% ~ 80% is appropriate. Short-term optimal feeding can be carried out 7~ 14 days before sow mating to increase ovulation. On the basis of the original feeding, add 2~2.5 kilograms of concentrated feed every day, and feed an appropriate amount of green, juicy and vitamin-rich feed such as grass and carrots. After the sow is mated, it should be adjusted in real time to resume normal feeding.

3. Grasp the appropriate breeding time.

Primiparous sows: the first estrus is not mated, and the second estrus of 2 1 day can increase the number of ovulation.

Breeding months: The litter size of sows bred in March-May, September-165438+10 is higher than that in other months, so pig farmers should try their best to adjust the sow breeding time to these months.

Mating time: usually 2~3 days after the sow shows signs of estrus, at this time, the pussy mucus of the sow flows out in a filiform way, and there is static reflection (the sow still has her hands akimbo). When the signs of estrus are not obvious, you can accept the trial of boars, and you can travel 8~ 12 hours after the first mating in an environment where mating opportunities are prohibited.

4, boars should give strength

Boars also have a great influence on the farrowing rate of sows. Many sows have low farrowing rate because their eggs can not be combined with sperm. Pig farmers should regularly check the quantity and vitality of sperm in boar semen, and relatively weak boars should travel and change in real time.

5, accept drugs to promote excretion.

Ovulation-promoting drugs can promote sows to increase ovulation times, thus achieving the purpose of improving the litter rate, but it will also reduce the utilization period of sows. Sows that are relatively out of estrus for a long time and are about to be scrapped can receive ovulation-promoting drugs to increase their income, but they will be scrapped after using 1~2 parity.
