According to historical records, Jun Chen, who was born in the Tang Dynasty and died in the Yuan Dynasty, lived 443 years, creating a record of longevity that has not been broken so far. According to the thirteen-year records of "Records of Yongtai County" (volume 12), Jun Chen was born in Tangquan Village, Yongjia Mountain Area, Fujian Province (now Tangcheng Village, Wu Tong Township, Yongtai County). Born in Nuozong and Xin Chou years of Tang Dynasty (88 1), he died in Jiazi year of Yuan Taiding (1).
According to the Records of Yongtai County, Jun Chen is honest and likes to do good deeds for the villagers, so he is respected by the villagers. In his later years, he could no longer support himself, so the villagers took turns to support him.
In his later years, his body muscles atrophy and his body is as big as a baby. When the women in the village do farm work, they put him in the vegetable basket and take him to the countryside to farm. When they are hungry, they feed him human milk. After a long time, they called him "the vegetable basket man". After Jun Chen's death, his remains were placed in Tangquan Temple as a memorial by his neighbors, and were called "Little Peng Zu" (it is said that Peng Zu lived for 800 years). Jun Chen's deeds were also carved on wooden boards, which were preserved from the Yuan Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty.
