1. Requirements for environmental conditions
(1) Requirements for temperature Scorpion belongs to a temperature-changing animal, lacking the function of self-regulating body temperature, and its body temperature can only change with the change of environmental temperature. In its life, temperature plays an important role, and mating, calving, growth and development, dormancy and wintering all need to be carried out at a suitable temperature. When the temperature drops below 10℃, scorpions lose their mobility, can't eat or move, and start to hibernate. The optimum temperature for dormancy is 0 ~ 7℃, and the temperature difference does not exceed 3 ~ 5℃. If the temperature fluctuates between -5 ~ 12℃ during dormancy, the scorpion will be in a restless state, which will inevitably affect its normal dormancy and lead to death. When the temperature is lower than 20℃ during the growth period, the activity is reduced, the growth and development are inhibited, indigestion causes abdominal distension, the incubation period of female scorpions is prolonged, and mating stops. Pregnant scorpions will be unable to hatch in the body due to abdominal distension, and will be infertile or die for life. When the temperature is stable at 10 ~ 12℃, the dormant scorpion begins to wake up and emerge from the sting, and can survive at -5 ~ 4℃. The suitable temperature for the growth and development of scorpions is 20 ~ 38℃. At 27 ~ 38℃, its activity is the highest and its growth and development is the fastest. Most calving and mating are carried out at this temperature. When the temperature is 32 ~ 38℃, the absorption metamorphosis period of newborn scorpions and the postpartum dormancy period of female scorpions are the shortest. When the temperature is 40 ~ 42℃, the evaporation of water in the body will increase, and dehydration will easily occur if it is not replenished in time. When the temperature exceeds 43℃, scorpions will lose water quickly due to dryness, showing quadriplegia, physical failure and death. ?
Scorpion's activity place should be slightly wet, with relative humidity of 65% ~ 75%, and its habitat should be slightly dry, with relative humidity of 15% ~ 18%. Too dry or too wet is not conducive to the growth and reproduction of scorpions. The suitable humidity during hibernation is 10% ~ 12%. Too high relative humidity in the air will frostbite scorpions.
(2) Requirements for Water Scorpions have a special way to obtain physiological water. First, they absorb water directly with their mouthparts. The second is to use the special function of the body to absorb the moisture in the activity place or soil and air. The water content in scorpions accounts for about 40% of their weight. As long as enough live insects are supplied and the temperature is appropriate, they can basically grow and develop normally.
(3) Requirements for light and air: Scorpions mostly mate and give birth in dark places. I am most afraid of direct glare and sun exposure, but I can move in an environment with scattered light. Scorpions have great endurance in the absence of air, and can absorb moisture and heat in the air. Therefore, cold, hot and dry air has a direct impact on their growth and development. ?
2. Scorpion selection and season introduction
(1) Scorpions are artificially raised, and the raised scorpions can be obtained from farmers, or wild scorpions can be captured in the producing area and domesticated into scorpions. You should choose scorpions that are big, strong, agile, with curly back, shiny body and no abnormal performance. The female scorpion should have a wide front abdomen, and the male scorpion should have a thick back abdomen and big horn pliers. ?
(2) In the introduction season, robust live scorpions were bought from old breeders, and the male-female ratio was 3∶ 1. Attention should be paid to catching and releasing scorpions when introducing them to prevent them from being hurt. Introduction is generally more suitable in February-April, when scorpions just start to move, and they are easy to live in groups under the condition of heat preservation, with the same smell and will not be killed. It is easy to introduce and raise 1 year-old scorpions, but it is not easy to transport them. Parents with temperature control conditions can introduce them at any time. For breeders without temperature control, it can be introduced in late April. The ratio of male to female is 2∶ 1. It is more appropriate to introduce 3-year-old scorpions from June to July. Mating and sowing the female scorpions born that year from July to September; Scorpions of 1 year can be introduced in February and raised in winter at the end of September. 2-year-old scorpions can be introduced at any time.
Pay attention to the following points when catching scorpions:
(1) Don't let scorpions get hurt when catching, and isolate them with leafy branches on the way home to avoid stinging each other as much as possible. ?
(2) Scorpions of different species, regions and sizes cannot be transported and raised together. ?
③ Scorpions with mold or parasites cannot be raised. Scorpions that have just been caught can be sprayed with 20% white wine for disinfection when the temperature is above 30℃. ?
(4) After the wild scorpions are put into the scorpion pond, turn them less and don't disturb the scorpions. Because scorpions live in a new environment and have an adaptation process. During this period, scorpions will be stung and infected with germs, but this situation will not last long. ?
3. Feeding methods
Scorpions can be kept in places that can prevent scorpions from escaping, hiding during the day, moving at night, heating and radiating, and are easy to manage. Common feeding methods are as follows:
(1) tank culture
It can be used as a breeding ground for breeding scorpions, and can also breed small scorpions and middle scorpions. It is ideal to make a scorpion nest with canned bottles. Each nest bottle has 1 breeding scorpion, 10 ~ 60 breeding scorpions or 2 ~ 6 middle scorpions. This not only makes the density reasonable, but also solves the problem of killing each other Wash the bottle with strong alkaline water, and then rinse it with clear water until it is transparent and odorless. After drying, put it into 2 ~ 3 cm thick moist soil as nest soil. The nest soil should be free of brick residue, weeds, grass roots and other sundries, and its humidity should be dispersed (water content is 12% ~ 17%) when it is ground by hand, and it can be slightly wet in summer and early autumn, and young and middle scorpions can also be wet. The particles of the nest soil should not be too large, preferably large particles such as mung beans and small particles such as grains. Window panels can be made of ordinary wood or plywood, and each panel can hold 15 bottles. The nest board can not only prevent the invasion of natural enemies, but also stack the nest bottles layer by layer to make full use of the space. ?
(2) Potting
It can be fed in large shallow grooves and large pots. If the bottom of the basin is too smooth, it will affect the activities of scorpions. You can put a thin layer of cement, clods or paper in it, and then put mesh bricks, tiles, wooden boards or wooden boxes for packaging and stack them one by one. It is best to fold into a pagoda, and the four corners between the pieces can be bonded with cement paste or yellow mud to increase the gap for scorpions to inhabit. Potted scorpions can't adjust the humidity by sprinkling water. When the temperature is high, sprinkling more water will evaporate a lot of water, and the sultry humidity is not good for the life of scorpions. Sprinkle less water, water is not volatile enough, and sultry and dry is not good for scorpion life. At present, a better way is to put a thick grass or a tender grass with large branches and leaves to adjust the humidity. These grasses or leaves will volatilize water with the change of external temperature. When the temperature is too high, scorpions can climb on grass or leaves to cool down. Put more grass and leaves, leaving room to prevent scorpions from using grass or leaves as a shelf to escape. When the temperature is high, dry or moldy grass leaves should be replaced in time. The basin mouth is covered with iron net or nylon cover. Generally, each washbasin can support 60 ~ 100 washbasins, and the shallow trough with a diameter of 60 cm can support more than 300 washbasins. Scorpions raised in pot are generally suitable for a small number of newly raised and young scorpions.
(3) box culture
A rectangular box with length, width and height of 80 cm× 40 cm× 50 cm can be made of wood, with small windows around it, blocked with plastic gauze, and the lid fixed with loose leaves for easy opening and closing. The box is piled with honeycomb adobe for scorpions to inhabit. There is a certain gap between the stacked adobe and the surrounding box boards, which is convenient for scorpions to move and prey. On the four sides of the mouth, stick a piece of plastic cloth on one side of the box and hang it in the mouth with a width of 10 cm to prevent scorpions from escaping from the opening. The box is easy to move and suitable for stocking big scorpions, but the cost is high.
(4) Pond culture
At present, domestic scorpion breeding usually adopts pond culture. The method is to build a brick pool with a length of 1m and a height of 0.75m indoors, which is made of a single brick. In order to prevent scorpions from climbing out and fleeing, non-toxic plastic films can be attached to the four walls of the pool, and plastic films can be attached to the bottom of the pool with cement (quicklime is prohibited). Nail the plastic film into the brick joints on the four sides of the pool mouth, and several large tiles (that is, machine-made tiles for building houses) are stacked vertically in the pool. There should be gaps between bricks to facilitate the cleaning of the pool. Tiles are stacked to the same height as the top of the pool wall, and four such tiles can be placed in the pool. In order to make it easier for scorpions to drink water, 5 ~ 6 non-toxic sponge pieces 10 cm2 can be placed at the bottom of the pool. Scorpion pond can also be raised by hanging tray, which can greatly improve the breeding density. The method is: put an iron or bamboo shelf 50 cm long and 20 cm wide in the pond, and then hang about 40 paper box pendants on the shelf, about 1 cm from the bottom of the pond, so that scorpions can automatically climb on the pendants. In addition, reeds with a diameter of 1.5 ~ 2cm can also be sawn into reeds with a length of 4cm, and 200 reeds can be bundled and put into the pool. Each pool can accommodate 20 groups of reed shells and 3,000 adult scorpions. The specifications of the pool can be determined according to the actual situation, so as to facilitate management.
(5) Pit cultivation
Choose a forest edge or a remote yard and dig a hole to feed. Each pit is 6 meters long and 4 meters wide. Dig four more nests in the pit, each 3 meters long, 0.7 meters wide and 1 meter deep. The bird's nest is filled with broken bricks and covered with waterproof tile roof, which is about 0.2 meters above the ground to avoid rainwater leakage. In order to prevent water accumulation around the nest, a slope of 6 ~ 7 degrees can be built around the scorpion pit, and drainage gates with gauze covers can be built at both ends of the site. ?
(6) house maintenance
Build a south-facing double-slope house with bricks or adobe in a sunny and warm place. The height of the scorpion house is no more than 2 meters, and the length and width are 2 meters. When stacking adobe, put small tiles between two adobe pieces and stick them with a little mud to increase the living area of scorpions. Open windows on both sides of the sunny side, leaving a door in the middle, depending on the size of the room. Doors and windows are sealed with plastic yarn or iron yarn, and the outside of the wall must be sealed with mud. The house is made of adobe into rows of scorpion nests. It is best to use glass as the roof facing the sun, so that the room is sunny and the temperature is high. You can use tiles or straw as the roof on the back, and leave 50 ~ 100 cm space around the house to plant some flowers and plants to attract insects for scorpions to prey on. If the water source is convenient, a ditch with a width of 20 cm can be opened at 50 ~ 100 cm around the scorpion house. The outer edge is vertical to prevent scorpions from climbing out, and the inner edge is trimmed to a slope of 30 ~ 40 degrees, which is convenient for scorpions to drink water in the ditch. In winter, it is best to seal the scorpion house with mud or grass curtains to prevent freezing, and then dismantle the fence after thawing in the second year. ?
(7) Greenhouse cultivation
Around the feeding room 10 cm away from the wall, build a layer of two walls, and the gap between the walls is filled with sawdust or dry fine soil. The ceiling at the top of the room should be made into a sandwich and filled to form an insulation layer. The door of the greenhouse should not be too big, as long as it is enough for 1 person to pass through. Velvet cloth should be attached between the door and the door frame, and sacks and cotton wool should be nailed outside the door to facilitate heat preservation. Coal ball furnace, electric furnace, wood chip furnace, wood stove, etc. Can be used to keep warm. A feeding room with a general space of 3m× 3m× 2.25m can accommodate 1 briquette furnace.
(8) Mountainous farming
Choose a hillside with high terrain, flat mountainside, warm climate and overgrown weeds, put scorpion species, let them breed without management, and collect them regularly. This method should pay attention to prevent the harm of natural enemies. Scorpions have a keen sense of smell and are easily sprayed with pesticides, so it is best not to go near orchards or forest farms. You can also cultivate scorpions with artificial rockeries. The method is: in a sunny and warm place, build the rockery with broken bricks or stones, but leave more small gaps when building, and surround the rockery with bricks at 50 ~ 100 cm. Plant some flowers and plants in the open space to attract insects to scorpions. No matter which feeding method is adopted, the materials for building scorpion nests should not be pesticides, fertilizers, lime, etc. And lime should not be used to wipe the cracks in the wall, so as not to hurt scorpions. Scorpion nests should not be paved with linoleum, so as not to affect the growth of scorpions with asphalt smell. When repairing the scorpion nest, the bottom of the nest should be paved with bricks and covered with soil to prevent rats from digging holes and maintain a certain humidity, which is conducive to the growth and reproduction of scorpions. Although the life and reproduction of scorpions are carried out in dark places, farms must have enough light to absorb the heat of sunlight, enhance the digestive ability of scorpions, accelerate their growth and shorten the incubation process of embryos in scorpions. Scorpion breeding density is controlled at 1 m3, with 2,000 large scorpions 1000 or medium scorpions and 4,000 small scorpions. In principle, less should not be more. Scorpions must be kept separately. Male and female scorpions usually mix together. Before mating, the pregnant female scorpions should be picked out, put into large glass bottles for single mating, and put back into the group for mating and mating 15 days after delivery.
(5) Feeding management technology
1. feed
Generally speaking, fresh, soft and juicy insects and small animals are the main ones. The artificially raised high-protein feed includes sterile flies, Tenebrio molitor, Eupolyphaga sinensis and so on. There are crickets, spiders, grasshoppers, cockroaches, cicadas, earthworms, mice and various moths in nature. Scorpions also like to eat frogs, geckos, mouse meat, rabbit meat, bird meat, beef and mutton. Sometimes I also eat fruit feed, such as watermelon skin, watermelon skin and apples. Scorpions eat melon skin mainly to absorb water, vitamins, sugar and other substances. Scorpions eat very little. Adult scorpions eat/kloc-0 for 70-80mg, young scorpions eat/kloc-0 for about 1 0mg, and scorpions eat/kloc-0 for 5-7 days.
2. Artificial feeding method
(1) According to the season in 1, scorpions in spring need enough nutrition after coming out of stings, because the nutrients consumed in winter need to be supplemented urgently. Scorpions are active in summer and autumn, which is the season of mating, reproduction and vigorous growth. Both young and pregnant scorpions urgently need adequate nutrition. Before hibernation in winter, scorpions should also be fattened and strengthened to ensure their safe wintering. Therefore, in these three periods, it is necessary to put enough favorite feed to scorpions in time. Feed is put in at 6 ~ 7 o'clock every night, and the remaining feed is taken out the next morning and the food plate is cleaned. However, in the two months from summer to the first frost, the temperature gradually drops, and scorpions have more activities during the day and less activities at night. Food should be placed in sunny and windless weather, and feed should be placed in the scorpion pool around noon. However, due to the influence of temperature, the scorpions in heated captivity still lie down during the day and come out at night, and the peak activity is at 7 ~ 12 in the evening, so the feed should be put into the scorpion pond before 7: 00 in the evening.
(2) The amount of feed, whether animal feed or plant feed, should be controlled according to the consumption of different scorpions, and then it can be put in economically and reasonably. If the appetite is not enough, scorpions will kill each other, eat big and small, eat strong and eat weak, and compete for food; However, if the dosage is too large, it will waste and easily deteriorate the remaining feed and pollute the environment. ? If you feed scorpions with sterile flies, there will be no feeding problem. If Tenebrio molitor is used to feed scorpions, different scorpions have different food intake under different temperature, humidity, light and feeding conditions. In order to know the demand of each scorpion for Tenebrio molitor, an experiment should be done in advance. The experimental method is as follows: within a certain temperature range (the temperature is 25 ~ 35℃), scorpions 100 of a certain age are captured from the scorpion pond and put into a small pot, and then Tenebrio molitor 100 of a corresponding size is put into the pot to raise 1 day and night. If you eat clean, it means that you eat less than scorpions, so it is better to stay less. After repeated experiments, we can accurately grasp the food intake of scorpions. ? For heated scorpions, the feeding time is usually before 8 pm, because white scorpions rest all day and basically don't eat. ?
Delivery mode: put the pupa of sterile flies or larvae of Tenebrio molitor into food trays, evenly distribute the food trays in the scorpion pool, and then sprinkle a little into the scorpion pool. ?
(3) Water supply method When feeding scorpions, we should also pay attention to timely water supply. Although scorpions have developed a strong thirst tolerance in long-term life, it is an important part to supply water to scorpions in time and in proper amount when raising scorpions artificially. Because scorpions usually need a certain amount of water, especially in high temperature, dry and hot environment, they should be replenished in time. The water supply method is to set a shallow water supply device in the crib or activity area of the scorpion nest, and put sponge, plastic foam and other things soaked in clear water into the water supply device. Change it when it is dry. You can also put a glass bottle filled with water in the scorpion's nest, insert one end of the cloth into the bottle, and hang the other end outside the bottle mouth. The water in the bottle oozes from the cloth for scorpions to suck. This can not only prevent the scorpion's feet from getting wet, but also help to adjust the humidity of the scorpion nest. In summer, a proper amount of white sugar can be added to scorpion's drinking water, and in winter, a proper amount of brown sugar can be added. Some farmers also feed young scorpions with a small amount of goat milk, which can not only increase nutrition, but also replenish water. ? Scorpions of different species and ages are mixed together, and sometimes claw fights and cannibalism occur. ? The solution is not to mix wild scorpions with domestic scorpions. It is necessary to gradually introduce scorpions of different kinds and characteristics and gradually adapt to them. ? In order to provide delicious feed for scorpions, we should feed them regularly, quantitatively and at fixed points. Maintain proper feeding density. After mating, male and female scorpions should be raised separately in time, and pregnant scorpions should be raised separately.
? 5. Breeding period management
In polyculture mating, the ratio of male to female should be at least 1: 1, preferably 3:2, and this ratio should be maintained every year, and male scorpions that have lost mating ability should be eliminated continuously, and Xiao Xiong scorpions that have just entered the third age should be selected. If the temperature is controlled at 35 ~ 39℃, newborn scorpions can climb on the back of female scorpions within 1 minute, and the survival rate is high. If it is at 25 ~ 30℃, it will take 3 ~ 5 minutes. When babies are born below 30℃, they will have soft fetuses and cannot get on the back of the mother scorpion, resulting in high mortality. Therefore, it is extremely important to control the temperature during delivery. Young scorpions can't eat when they climb behind the mother scorpion. They can eat some worms in 5 ~ 6 days, and then leave the mother scorpion to live independently in 15 days. At this stage, the scorpion is soft and fragile, so it cannot be hurt. It won't shed its skin if it is damaged a little. ?
When the mother scorpion gives birth to the scorpion in the bottle for about half a month, the mother and son can be separated. When separating, use chicken feathers to drive all scorpions away from the back of the female scorpion, then take the female scorpion out with chopsticks and put it back into the big ball to continue mating. The small scorpion in the bottle is poured into a pot for cultivation, and the original soil and leaves should be removed. Be careful when you pour. You can pour it on a piece of paper first and then separate the scorpions. Put leaves in the pot for raising scorpions, and cover the spout with gauze to prevent scorpions from escaping and feeding normally. When raising scorpions, you should be disturbed as little as possible or not.
Remove the leftover food of scorpions, but when the light is strong at noon every day, scorpions hide in the cracks of bricks without interference. ? If the male scorpions that have lost their mating ability are not removed in time during mating and reproduction, there will be few Xiao Xiong scorpions during mating, which can not meet the mating needs of female scorpions, and will also lead to cannibalism. Removing male scorpions or choosing pregnant female scorpions should be done at night when scorpions come out for activities. Make sure to pick out a chopstick. Move as lightly as possible to avoid hurting scorpions. ?
6. Overwintering management
(1) Normal hibernation management
Overwintering scorpions are fat and healthy, and their young have a high survival rate. About one month before entering the sting, the temperature of the scorpion nest was raised to about 25℃ by artificial methods, and high-quality soft insect feed was put in to make the overwintering scorpions eat well and be full. After entering hibernation, scorpion body fluids will not freeze at-1℃, and will not freeze in a short time. If you stay at-1℃ for a long time, the weak scorpion will not recover even after the temperature rises. Therefore, when hibernating, the room temperature should be controlled between 3 ~ 5℃, the lowest should not be lower than 2℃, and the highest should not exceed 6℃. When the temperature is too high, scorpions are dormant and semi-dormant. ?
Scorpion nest mud should not be too wet, with water content of about 15% and air humidity of about 45%. If it is too dry, spray or spray a small amount of water into the scorpion nest in time, or soak it with sponge and put it at the bottom of the scorpion nest, but don't spray the scorpion nest mud wet and thin; Too wet is not conducive to scorpion hibernation. Scorpion's appendages are stained with wet mud, which is not easy to pull out after drying, and it is also easy to cause death. ?
(2) Heating and feeding in the wintering period
Conditional places can be raised in greenhouses to break the winter hibernation of scorpions. Generally, as long as the temperature is controlled between 20 ~ 30℃ and the lowest temperature is not lower than 15℃, scorpions not only do not hibernate, but also can move freely and continue to feed, molt, grow and develop. Therefore, it takes 3 years for young scorpions to develop into adults in natural environment and 1 ~ 2 years in greenhouse. Female scorpions can also give birth from 1 year to 1 year to 3-4 years. However, it should be noted that the life span of wild scorpions can reach 8-9 years, and artificial breeding can live for up to 5 years without hibernation. There are many heating methods, such as furnace heating. This method is only suitable for a small number of pots and cans, which are placed by the fire. The heating of the floor heater is to install a stove underground, and the crater is not higher than the ground, so that the indoor temperature difference does not exceed 5℃. Attention should be paid to prevent gas poisoning. 7. The treatment of scorpion stings is sometimes stung by scorpions when feeding or catching. After the sting, the local area is not red and swollen, or only the wound oozes blood, feeling sharp pain or numbness, and there is also local swelling. Severe cases are complicated with systemic symptoms, such as dizziness, lethargy, lethargy, drooping eyelids or vomiting, abdominal pain, etc. What's more, the tongue is strong and speechless, foaming at the mouth, dysphagia, weakened breathing, decreased blood pressure and even coma. ?
After the scorpion is stung, tie the stung part with a small rope and suck out the venom. Patients with severe sting should mainly promote blood circulation, dispel wind and detoxify. ?
Here are some rescue methods:
1. Washing the wound with soapy water or 3% ammonia water and potassium permanganate solution can alleviate or disappear the symptoms.
2. Wipe the wound with garlic or mashed garlic, or mash Okumo and apply it to the stung part to relieve swelling and pain.
3. Take 12 healthy live scorpions and put them into 500 grams of white wine. Soak for 2 weeks. After being stung by a scorpion, you can drink this wine or scrub the wound with it.
4. Take "Ji Desheng Snake Slice" orally and inject "Snake Venom Injection" intramuscularly.
5. Mash Lobelia chinensis and apply it to the wound.
6. Use 5 grams of blood scorpion, 5 grams of catechu, 5 grams of frankincense, 5 grams of myrrh, 5 grams of Alpinia officinarum, 0. 1 g of musk and 0. 1 g of plum slices, mix and grind into fine noodles, and put them in a glass bottle for later use. When in use, it is made into paste with wine and applied to the stung part to relieve the pain. ?
7. Inhale 2 ml of ether with a syringe and inject it subcutaneously at the stung part, about 1 drop each time. After injection, the pain can be alleviated. (6) Feeding and density of scorpion species?
2. Seed casting method
Scorpions from other places, or scorpions of different ages in several feeding rooms, are easy to bite each other because of their different smells. When planting, put the scorpions into the feeding room, smoke them with white wine or cigarette smoke, and then cover the feeding room tightly for a few minutes. Scorpions of all ages naturally leave and smell the same. When sowing, try to put enough seeds in 1 room 1 time. If scorpions of the same species have the same smell, they can be put into 1 room 1 time without smoking.
New breeders should adjust the temperature difference when introducing scorpion varieties to avoid frostbite, abortion or death of scorpions caused by excessive temperature difference between the two places. The transportation of breeding scorpions is also very important, which often leads to miscarriage, increased energy consumption and even death of pregnant scorpions. Attention should be paid to during transportation:
(1) To avoid transporting scorpions in the dark, please cover the shipping box with a layer of black cloth, and pay special attention to avoid direct glare and rain. ?
(2) To prevent bumping, a soft and thick object or sponge should be placed under the scorpion box. Arrive at the destination as soon as possible after departure to prevent scorpions from encountering unexpected harmful factors. ?
(3) Reduce energy consumption. In addition to reaching the destination as soon as possible, try not to get close to the high temperature environment during transportation to reduce the energy consumption of scorpions. ? Don't let the scorpions go home immediately. Let it be. It was stable in a quiet place for four hours. If you arrive at your destination after 3: 00 pm, don't release scorpions on that day, and wait until 7: 00 pm the next day, because it is past 7: 00 pm when you arrive at your destination after 3: 00 pm, and then it will be stable for 4 hours. This is just the beginning of the scorpion activity, and you won't release scorpions until the next day. Arrive at the destination before 3 pm, no matter how early, wait until 7 pm. Before releasing the scorpion species, it is necessary to repeatedly check the safety of the feeding room (pool, pot and basin) and make sure that the feeding pool, pot and basin are correct before releasing them.
3. Droplet density
Density is very important in the process of raising scorpions. The density is too low, the area of the feeding room and pond is not fully utilized, and the cost is high, which affects the economic income, especially the feeding room with artificial temperature control. However, the feeding density is too high, and due to the restriction of nests and food, the phenomenon of cannibalism and the law of the jungle is produced, resulting in losses. ? The reasonable breeding density is: a pool with a diameter of 50 cm and a height of 60 cm can accommodate about 500 pregnant scorpions, 2,000 commercial scorpions 1 0,000 per square meter, 5-6 year-old big scorpions 1 0,000, and 3,000-3,500 middle-aged scorpions.
(7) Prevention and treatment of scorpion diseases?
Scorpions generally do not have infectious diseases that cause a large number of deaths, but they will also die if the sanitary conditions in the scorpion room are not good, the humidity is too high or too low, and the food and drinking water deteriorate. ?
1. Black belly disease
It is caused by scorpions eating unclean and smelly food or drinking water. The front abdomen of the sick scorpion is swollen and black. The prevention and control methods are to isolate the sick scorpions in time, remove the residual food, stop water for a few days, pay attention to food hygiene and strengthen management. ?
2. Dry disease
Due to the lack of water in the scorpion nest, it is caused by excessive drying. The tail and abdomen of the sick scorpion turn yellow and slowly dry up. Prevention and control: replenish water in time, keep a certain humidity in the scorpion nest, and it will be fine in a few days. ?
3. Eliminate Fusarium wilt
Symptoms are dry and dull, flat front abdomen, no crawling, loss of balance, fear of eating backwards, and walking away slowly without eating for many days. This disease can be seen all year round, mostly because the soil is not changed for a long time, the nest soil is too dry, or the scorpion overeats after excessive hunger. During the treatment, 3 yeast tablets and oxytetracycline/kloc-0 tablets can be ground into powder and added with water, and the sick scorpion is forced to take medicine twice a day for 3 ~ 4 days.
4. Black mold
Also known as mycosis or melasma. This disease mostly occurs in autumn, and it is a fungal infection caused by excessive soil humidity or long-term humidity in the nest. The main symptoms are that the back abdomen can't curl, the whole body is soft, the movement is slow, and there are small black spots on the front abdomen. The treatment method is to use 0.25g of chlortetracycline tablets, grind them into powder and add 400g of water, and force them to drink medicine twice a day, and they will recover in 3-4 days. The original nest room should be disinfected and the ground soil should be changed.
5. Foot numbness and black feet
Scorpions are prone to this disease when bitten by ants. After getting sick, my feet contract, I can't stretch them, I lose my mobility and don't want to eat. When you want to run, it becomes a jumping and rolling action, and the sick foot slowly turns black, becomes dry and dies. The way of prevention and control is to prohibit ants from entering the scorpion room and remove them immediately after discovery. ?
6. Hemiplegia
The symptoms of this disease are walking sideways, or walking on one side of the lower limb and the second claw limb, rolling and crawling, feeling completely ignorant, and crawling outward as if afraid of nothing during the day. The reason is that the humidity of the nest room is too high and the hot steam is too high. Pay attention to the humidity of the nest room. ?
7.scorpion lice
When scorpions suffer from lice, yellow powdery parasitic mites will appear on their bodies, lurking in the small cracks on their feet, chest and abdomen, legs and tail. This small mite is called scorpion lice. The reason is that the humidity in the scorpion room is too high. The prevention method is to dry the nest room; At the same time, attention should be paid to isolation and disinfection with light bleaching powder spray. ?
8.scorpion mite
Scorpions infected with acaroid bacteria will affect their growth and development, and will gradually lose weight in severe cases. This kind of bacteria is mostly brought in by insect food, so attention should be paid to hygiene in daily feeding. Once found, we should pay close attention to treatment. You can fill a small sprayer with water, add 3 ml of 25% chlordimeform and 1 ml of alcohol, and spray it on the abdomen and back of the sick scorpion once every three days, usually four times. Change rooms and soil every time, and use the original nest room after disinfection. ?
9. Constipation
Dry soil is prone to this disease. Scorpions often move their bowels but can't pull them out after they get sick. Diet decreased, activity weakened, the back abdomen began to turn white, and the scope continued to develop. When it reaches the first section of the back abdomen, it will die. The prevention and control measures are to supply drinking water to scorpions and appropriately increase the humidity of scorpions' rooms. ?
10. The destruction of the enemy
Mice, cats, chickens, birds, snakes, geckos, frogs, toads and ants are all natural enemies of scorpions. Prevention and control methods: strengthen management and cover the nest board. Drugs can also be used to trap and kill, but it is necessary to prevent drugs from being toxic to scorpions. Young scorpions should be protected against ants and can be trapped and removed with lard and sugar-coated paper. ? A room with a nest bottle can't store chemical fertilizers, pesticides and lime, burn coal stoves and kerosene stoves, and light mosquito-repellent incense. ?
