In fact, it is our hearts that should really calm down. We can cultivate the habit of sitting quietly, and with self-cultivation in life, we will naturally live longer and ensure the absolute quality of life without spending a lot of money on medical treatment or medicine. In fact, there is no need to retreat and meditate every day. Every word and deed in daily life is an opportunity to practice meditation. As Zhang Sanfeng, the founder, said, "Being alone in one spirit, dealing with advance and retreat in daily life is like being in the mirror. When things come, you face them. When things go by without a trace and there is no difference, the truth will naturally remain. 」
Breathing and brain dancing are ways to keep healthy.
In the busy daily life, it is difficult for our tired bodies to really relax, and we don't know how much emotional pressure has accumulated in our bodies. Is there any way to keep the best physical and mental state in the busy pace of life? In fact, the most important trick is "breathing". How to return to the most relaxed breathing state is an important lesson that each of us must pay attention to.
And can meditation be quiet? How to calm the troubled heart is not something we can do on our own. Although modern people will relax themselves through music and even drugs, it is only temporary. In the process of learning to sit still, after observing the disciple's physique and personality, Master gave him the most appropriate training guidance so that he could make adjustments in the most critical links.
Master once said, "Most people nowadays are very ill and leave at a young age. Mainly because they are physically and mentally exhausted and don't know how to make up for it. ..... Once upon a time, there was a Li Qingyun veteran who lived for more than 200 years. The main reason why these people can live a long life is that they control their breathing better from the heart than the average person. 」
Just like Master always reminds disciples who have just started to learn to sit still: "Every time our ancestors taught people to stop thinking, it was futile to stop thinking." Because people's distractions are hard to catch, often like waterfalls in thousands of feet, which ordinary people can't stop or restrain with their minds. Therefore, what Master really teaches students is to teach him how to fully integrate breathing and mind.
In our daily life, breathing means commitment and income. Master pointed out: "Look at the word" rest ",which has" self "on it and" heart "on it, meaning that breathing is related to one's heart. The so-called heart-interest dependence is a secret method, which means that there is no breath coming in and out at the end of meditation, only an independent and high-standard heart, and breathing forms a breath, which is more effective! 」
This is the basic concept of Taoist cultivation of essence, and it also shows that if you sit still, you can make breath and mind inseparable, which will play a greater role in conditioning body and mind. When the breath comes in and out and reaches the end point, it will appear as soft as silk, weak as silk, continuous and thin. If it is true, it will be like returning to the state when the fetal umbilical cord has not been cut, which is what Laozi, the ancestor of Taoism, said. As for the harmonious operation of breathing and qi, that is the experience passed down by the masters and apprentices. This process of giving everything, in the book Sit-in: This Matter, warmly projects a true scene of Taoist mind.
Sit still, even foreigners are in Kazakhstan!
At present, meditation is becoming more and more popular in the modern western world, and more and more people try to use it as an adjuvant therapy and health preservation method. More and more scientific experiments have reported the efficacy of meditation, and even related meditation and meditation courses have sprung up.
Teacher Wang Mi attaches great importance to modern people's physical problems, and hopes to share with you the secret recipe of meditation and health preservation that he has learned for many years, so he finished "Meditation: This Matter" and shared his unique formula and method with readers, hoping to make everyone's body feel the real breath again! The following excerpt is from the meditation: this matter:
After World War II, many foreigners were curious about the mystery of the East. When my master was in the mountains, he came into contact with several German and French scholars who came to China to study the mysteries of Taoism. Two of them later became monks and became experts in China. After practicing, they found that many chronic diseases were incurable, so they were confident in meditation and alchemy.
Later, I have seen many western scientific and medical groups often send delegations to visit and study in Qingcheng Mountain. Once, I happened to participate in an experimental group composed of three countries. They wanted to know about China's Qigong, so they asked two Taoist priests in the Taoist temple to perform several movements. They put a feather in front of the nostrils of the Taoist priest who sat quietly. The Taoist priest breathed a sigh of relief and then lived in dantian. After the whole morning, the feathers never fell. People nearby used sphygmomanometer, heartbeat meter and some advanced medical equipment to measure, only to find that Taoist priest could enter a state of complete cardiac arrest, and he could control his pulse at will. All these phenomena really surprise westerners.
First experience sitting in the bright spring.
When I was sixteen or seventeen, I went to Master's residence for the first time. At that time, I only felt very warm and quiet in my heart, and there were few such living environments in Taipei. The gate consists of two grass-green iron gates with push rails. The gate is supported by a whole row of red bricks, which are dotted with bagua-shaped hollowed-out window grilles. After entering the gate, a towering camphor tree was planted on both sides, and there was a banyan tree on the roof next to it, which was impressive. Master raised two cages of green embroidered eyes on the banyan tree. In summer, there is a circle of seven fragrant flowers outside. With the smell of Xia Feng blowing, the fragrance that seeps into the tip of the nose naturally makes people feel warm and happy.
Sometimes the fallen leaves of banyan trees, accompanied by the songs of birds, form another breath. There is a lawn near here. Although small, it is enough for a dozen or twenty fellow initiates to meditate together. Right in front of the lawn are four or five steps made of 100 miles of stones. This is a room left by a Japanese diplomat. It's simple. Simply put, all you can see is tatami, cypress floor and bamboo. Floor-to-floor wooden sliding door is a facade separated by wooden strips, which has different painting contents. Among them, it is very impressive that there is a whole piece of cranes, large and small, some flying, some perching, some foraging, each with its own expression.
Three days a week, brothers and sisters from different industries come here to study meditation. Only I come to Master's residence from 4: 30 to 5: 00 every morning, rain or shine, and accept her merciful guidance. Over the years, I have seen people come and go and made many good friends. I heard a lot of testimony and induction about meditation from these brothers and sisters, which was actually very helpful to me as a beginner at that time.
What impressed me deeply was a brother who was about seventy years old at that time. He followed Master for many years and spoke with a Sichuan accent. He once told us that when he first came to Taiwan Province Province, he was sick all over and there were no familiar doctors. Especially when hypertension attacks, it reaches more than 200, and he also has diabetes. Besides, he is obese. I woke up several times in the middle of the night because I had to write and cook words to satisfy my hunger, but I couldn't sleep well. This kind of physical and mental torture made him miserable. After master taught him the basics of meditation, he gradually opened up. Finally, Master taught him how to breathe. He concentrates on meditation as long as he has a little leisure every day, sometimes as many as seven or eight times a day. He said, "at first, I couldn't even do double sets, and I couldn't even stick to a single set for five minutes. The master said, "Never mind! Just use the most comfortable posture and pay attention to your breathing style. In this way, he sat for half a year without stopping, and he could sit for an hour from five minutes to the end.
He talked about his own process at that time: "At the beginning, it was about three months, and I felt that my legs would not be cold or numb. On the contrary, there is a heat flow gradually moving from the soles of the feet to the abdomen, and there is also a warm air in the abdomen, which gradually climbs up from the chest and back, but the time is not long. During the period, I found that my appetite increased greatly, I had no dreams at night, my antihypertensive drugs were halved, and my spirit was no longer depressed during the day. After sitting for about half a year, I went to the clinic. The doctor said my blood sugar was almost normal. 」
The most important thing in meditation is not to be centrifugal.
What I learned from the Taoist priest is not only superficial meditation and martial arts, because what the Taoist priest teaches is the character, morality and mind of the yogi. Master said, "As the Book of Changes says,' fish after exhausting the resources', whether learning to sit still can lead to the unity of heaven and man, the most important thing is the exercise of mind. If you just sit still, it's like a stagnant pool, which will never help your body. 」
"The main reason for being quiet is that you can see through the fame and love in the world of mortals. In the process of meditation, many people use their thoughts to control their distractions, which is actually like putting oil on wood to help fuel, putting the cart before the horse. Our mind cannot be forced to oppress it. To transform our minds, we must start with the root cause, that is, human desire and persistence. Have you ever noticed that when you want to be quiet, you feel like a tribe in Ma Benteng? This principle is like using a glass cup in the sun, shaking it and putting it on the table, and you will find a lot of impurities floating in the water. It's like this when we meditate. Therefore, the only way to keep your heart clean is to empty the water in the cup; Just like you want to be quiet in meditation, you have to empty your heart first. Distraught, guilty conscience is god; The heart is actually greedy, and the guilty conscience is empty. So when you meditate, you must first clear your mind and get rid of your desires, or you can meditate on the Heart Sutra for one or three times. Both Buddhism and Taoism regard Heart Sutra as the most important classic. In particular, Quanzhen School is different from Taoism, and there is no difference between Buddhism and Taoism. It is advisable to understand the words in the Heart Sutra, which have different meanings.
Meditation tip: a small step to change your mood through different breathing methods!
First, when you feel heavy, weak and depressed, focus on the air you breathe in, count from one to ten, and then count from ten to one. In the process of counting breaths, try to focus on breathing in and out, but don't deliberately cut off or suppress distractions. Let nature take its course, otherwise it will increase your anger.
Second, when you feel that your spirit is too high and your distractions are too strong, as if there is a hot and moving gas on your body, you should focus on venting. Count from one to ten, and from ten to one. In the process of counting breaths, try to focus on breathing in and out, but don't deliberately cut off or suppress distractions. Let nature take its course, otherwise it will increase your anger.
A simple way to start practicing is to pay attention to your breathing and cooperate with others ── less gas consumption, less eye injury, less decadent voices in your ears, meaningless language in your mouth, no distractions in your heart, and no concern for the realm of all things outside from morning till night.
