When is the autumn equinox?
Every year around September 23rd, when the sun reaches longitude 180 degrees, it enters the "autumnal equinox" solar term.

"Cold and summer are harmonious day and night, and the autumn equinox is yin and yang." On September 22nd, 2 1: 3 1, the autumnal equinox among the 24 solar terms will be ushered in. It is reported that this is also one of the earliest solar terms in ancient China.

traditional custom

On the autumnal equinox, Hakka farmers have a holiday according to the custom. Every family should eat glutinous rice balls, and cook dozens, twenties and thirties of glutinous rice balls, and put thin bamboo forks on the edge of the field every day to stick birds' mouths to prevent them from damaging crops.

The autumn equinox is also a good time for Hakka children to fly kites. Especially on the autumnal equinox, even adults attend. Kites are divided into Wang Zi kites, silver carp kites, moth kites, Leigong kites and Moonlight kites. The largest kites are two meters high and the smallest ones are two or three feet.
