Su Shi
The road to the east, the water is turbid, the rehmannia dust, the fields are vast, and the walkers are tired. Every 800 miles, the garden of the soul wall is in the sun of Bianyang. Outside, the bamboo is tall and the tree is deep. Among them, because of immersion, it is thought to be a pool, and the strange stones on the mountain are thought to be rock mounds. Puwei Lotus has Jianghu thoughts; The chair is Tongbai, which has the breath of mountains and forests; Strange flowers and different grasses, in the same state as Luo Jing; Huatang Building has the ingenuity of Wu Shu. Its depth can be hidden, its wealth can be raised, fruits and vegetables can be used as neighbors, and fish, turtles, bamboo shoots and shavings can be eaten everywhere. I moved from Pengcheng to Xing Wu and from Songdengzhou, where I stayed for three nights. Knocking at the door again, I saw Zhang's son coming shoulder-to-shoulder, asking if he remembered it.
However, there are also outstanding figures in Zhang's world. Starting with his uncle Zhong Jun and his ancestor Tongzhou Fujun, they started the spiritual wall of their family and made this garden a pavilion for Gao Lan to support his relatives. Later, he became an official in North Korea and became a minor celebrity. More than 50 years have passed, and we have pushed the remaining efforts to cure day by day. Its wood is surrounded by ten, and the shore valley is looming. Everything in the garden is not satisfactory. I believe it will take a long time to play.
A gentleman of ancient times doesn't have to be an official or an official. If you must be an official, you will forget your body; If you don't do this, you will forget your husband. For example, the diet is suitable for hunger and satiety. However, Han Shi can follow his righteousness and attend his festivals. It is difficult for people who are content with the status quo to come out, and those who come out are addicted to interests and forget to return. Therefore, it violates the ridicule and customs of relatives, and it is a loss to live in peace. Today, Zhang Jiazu is far-sighted, and for the sake of future generations, he built a room art garden between the edge and the thought. Where you serve in the morning and evening, Yan You is full of joy. Let their children and grandchildren open the door to be officials, then they will step on the market; Close the door and thank the guests, and then throw them down the mountain. In order to preserve health and manage nature, we must pursue righteousness and ambition. Therefore, his children and grandchildren are called honest officials and talents, and they all have a clean and honest journey, which covers up the pride of their predecessors.
I have been in Pengcheng for two years, enjoying the rural style, and I will be reluctant to part with it, while the elders in Pengcheng are tired of buying land in Surabaya and growing old together. In the second year of Yuanfeng (1079), Su Shi went to Huzhou and wrote "Lingbi Zhang Ting Ji" at the request of the pavilion owner. Every 800 miles, the garden on the spiritual wall is in the sun. " This is a long sentence of 37 words, which is basically a neat and sonorous rhythm composed of four words. It twists and turns and looks very spectacular. In the 800-mile journey from Bianjing, the capital, to Lingbi, there are yellow dust and vast fields, and there is no scenery to see, which plays a good role in setting off the landscape of Zhang's garden. Walking through the boring eight hundred miles and stepping into the beautiful Zhang Garden, I feel refreshed and exhausted. Then use parallelism and antithesis to describe the landscape inside and outside the park. Outside the garden, the bamboo is high and the trees are deep, showing a lush and deep scene of deep mountains and forests. One of the landscapes in the park is made of Bian River, and the other is made of rocks from distant mountains. Therefore, there is a distant river and lake scene in the park, and there is a strong forest atmosphere when you see cypress trees. The end of the pen is full of appreciation of openness and seclusion. Then wrote "exotic flowers and plants, with Luo Jing; Huatangfu has the ingenuity of Wu and Shu, and the scenery in the garden is not only interesting in mountains and rivers, but also beautiful in flowers and plants in Kyoto gardens and exquisite in architecture of Wu and Shu. This reflects the uniqueness of Zhang Yuanlin, not empty rhetoric. Therefore, he further expressed his love and appreciation for it, saying: "It can be hidden, its wealth can be raised, fruits and vegetables can fill the neighborhood, and fish, turtles, bamboo shoots and shavings can be eaten by guests from all directions." Then, take notes on the request for building a garden, and naturally transition to the description of Zhang Jiashi and the introduction of trying to build a garden. In this article, the author focuses on the long-term management that has lasted for more than 50 years. His ancestors were equal in "increasing governance". They worked hard and were quite original. So "everything in the garden is unsatisfactory", and finally they summed it up with "I believe it has been working hard for a long time", and wrote the story of Zhang's painstaking management of the garden from generation to generation.
Since "an ancient gentleman doesn't have to be an official, he doesn't have to be an official", a long speech has come out, which not only talks about the truth, but also closely follows Zhang Xianren's far-reaching consideration of building a garden for his descendants. Therefore, the writing is neither vague nor rigid. In this discussion, Su Shi's life attitude and life principles are reflected. Like a gentleman in ancient times, you should choose carefully between sources. Once you decide, you should be cautious in your words and deeds. To be an official, you must forget yourself and serve the country for the world; If you hide, you will forget your husband, be detached from things and be indifferent to the world. However, in his view, there are too few literati who can follow their righteousness and go to their festivals. They are often "those who are content with the status quo are hard to get out, and those who get out are obsessed with profit and forget to return." If we can't treat the source correctly, it is inevitable that there will be "ridiculing against relatives and customs, and the disadvantages of happiness." Mr. Zhang built the garden in order to find future generations, so that he could be an official in the garden and live in seclusion. "If you do what you want, you must do it, you must do it." Therefore, being kind to future generations, being an official is a good minister, and seclusion is a scholar. In fact, he expressed his true feelings by praising Zhang's ancestors.
In the last paragraph, I wrote that when I was 18 years old, I was interested in living in Pengcheng in seclusion, enjoying the local conditions and customs of Pengcheng, loving my elders and going back and forth to Zhang's garden.
