Density board, MDF, core board and particleboard, which board is more suitable for wooden furniture?
Wood board (commonly known as large core board) is plywood with solid wood core. Its vertical bending and compressive strength is poor (according to the direction of the core board), but its transverse bending and compressive strength is high. At present, the plates on the market are mostly solid, glued, double-sided frosted and five-layered, which is one of the most commonly used plates in decoration.

Advantages:

A. The joinery board has the characteristics of good screw grip, high strength, firmness, sound absorption and heat insulation. The moisture content of blockboard is not high, which is between 10%- 13%. Easy to process, widely used in furniture, doors and windows and sleeves, partitions, fake walls, heating covers, curtain boxes and so on.

B, due to the internal use of solid wood strips, the requirements for processing equipment are not high, which is convenient for on-site construction.

Disadvantages:

A, due to the large use of urea-formaldehyde glue in the production process of blockboard, the formaldehyde emission is generally high, and the environmental protection standard is generally low, which is why most blockboards have a pungent smell.

B. At present, most joinery boards in the market cut corners in production, and there are large gaps when the solid wood strips are spliced, and there are holes in the boards generally. If nails are nailed in the gap, there is basically no nail holding force.

C, the solid wood strips inside the blockboard are spliced longitudinally, so the vertical bending and compressive strength is poor, and long-term stress will lead to obvious lateral deformation of the board.

D, the solid wood strips inside the blockboard are made of different materials and have different densities, which are easy to warp and deform after simple drying; The structure is twisted and deformed, which affects the appearance and use effect.

E. Because the surface of the joinery board is rough, carpenters usually use a lot of glue or paint when processing the surface on site, so the furniture made of this board is extremely environmentally unfriendly, which is also the main reason for the pungent smell when decorating. This kind of on-site furniture is the chief culprit of cancer and genetic mutation, which is very harmful to human body.

cardboard

Particleboard is a kind of artificial board, which is made by cutting all kinds of branches and buds, small diameter wood, fast-growing wood and sawdust into pieces of certain specifications, drying them, mixing them with rubber, hardener and waterproof agent, and pressing them at a certain temperature and pressure. Because its cross section resembles a honeycomb, it is called particleboard.

Adding certain raw materials such as "moisture-proof factor" or "moisture-proof agent" into particleboard becomes what people usually call moisture-proof particleboard. Because of its strong moisture-proof performance and small expansion coefficient after water absorption, particleboard has a certain moisture-proof effect, which is widely used in cabinets, bathroom cabinets and other environments, but in fact it has become a tool for many inferior particleboards to cover up more internal impurities. Adding green dye into particleboard forms what is called green particleboard on the market at present. Many manufacturers use it to mislead it to become a green environmental protection board, but there is no scientific basis. Most of the top brands of particleboard at home and abroad are natural substrates.

Advantages:

A, with good sound absorption and sound insulation performance; Thermal insulation and sound absorption properties of particleboard

B, the inside is a granular staggered structure, the performance of each part is basically the same, and the structure is relatively uniform, so the nail holding force is good and the lateral bearing capacity is good.

C, strong moisture-proof performance, small expansion coefficient after water absorption, widely used as raw materials for cabinets and bathroom cabinets in humid environment.

C, the particleboard surface is flat, the texture is realistic, the bulk density is uniform, the thickness error is small, it is pollution-resistant, aging-resistant, beautiful, and can be painted and various veneers;

In the production process of F particleboard, the amount of glue used is small, and the environmental protection coefficient is relatively high.

Disadvantages:

A, the internal structure is granular, not easy to grind;

B, it is easy to cause tooth explosion when cutting the board, so it requires higher processing equipment;

Fiberboard (also called density board)

Fiberboard is made of plant fiber as the main raw material through thermal grinding, sizing, paving, hot pressing and other processes. Fiberboard has different densities. The density below 450kg/m3 is called low density fiberboard, the density between 450-800kg/m3 is called medium density fiberboard (MDF), and the density above 800kg/m3 is called hard fiberboard (HDF). Density board is mainly used to produce finished furniture, and also used to strengthen wood floors, door panels, partitions and so on.

Advantages:

A, the surface of fiberboard is smooth and smooth, and the material is exquisite, which is convenient for modeling and milling.

B, fiberboard toughness is good, in the case of small thickness (such as 6MM, 3MM) is not easy to break.

Disadvantages:

A, fiberboard has poor moisture resistance and large expansion coefficient after water absorption.

B, the inside of the fiberboard is in a powdery structure, the nail holding force is poor, and the screws are easy to loosen after being tightened.

C, because the strength of fiberboard is not high, the height of furniture should not be too high, mostly 2100 mm.

E, in the production of fiberboard, due to its internal structural characteristics, the amount of glue used is large, and the environmental protection coefficient is low to some extent.

Solid wood finger joint plate

Finger joint board, also known as integrated board, integrated board and finger joint board, is a kind of board made of small pieces of solid wood after deep processing like "fingers". Because the interface between plates is serrated, similar to the cross joint of two fingers, it is called finger joint plate. Because the logs are cross-glued, the gluing structure itself has a certain adhesive force, and because there is no need to stick panels up and down, the amount of glue used is extremely small.

Advantages: Because there are few seams and less glue used in solid wood jigsaw puzzle, the environmental protection coefficient is relative.

Higher. Easy processing, cutting, drilling, sawing and molding.

Disadvantages: the solid wood finger joint plate is easy to deform and crack. The quality of good solid wood finger joint board is guaranteed, but the cost is higher.

Wood particle board

The so-called solid wood particleboard is actually the board produced by the process of particleboard, and it is also a kind of particleboard belonging to homogeneous particleboard.

Homogeneous particleboard, scientifically called oriented structure particleboard, is a product made of small diameter wood, thinning wood, wood core, veneer and branch wood. And processed by special equipment to grow 40 mm, 70 mm, 5 mm, 20 mm wide, 0.3 mm thick and 0.7 mm thick. After drying, sizing and special equipment, the surface layer and core layer are laid crosswise and directionally, and then hot-pressed and formed. After the shavings are dried by advanced single-channel dryer, the expansion coefficient of homogeneous particleboard is small and the moisture-proof performance is very good. Its shavings are spread layer by layer, so the internal texture is uniform, and it is superior to ordinary particleboard and powder density board in nail holding force, bending resistance and stability.

As a kind of high-grade environmental protection substrate, oriented structure particleboard has been widely used by European and American furniture manufacturers and also in the domestic high-grade panel furniture market.

Multi-layer solid wood board

Multi-layer solid wood board is made of criss-crossing multi-layer plywood as the base material and high-quality solid wood veneer or technical wood as the fabric on the surface, through cold pressing, hot pressing, sanding, curing and other processes.

Because the multilayer solid wood board has the characteristics of difficult deformation and good indoor temperature and humidity adjustment performance, the surface solid wood veneer material has the texture and feel of natural solid wood and has stronger selectivity. Therefore, it is favored by consumers.

Multi-layer solid wood board structure has good stability, difficult deformation and strong quality. Due to vertical and horizontal gluing and high temperature and pressure, the deformation defect of solid wood board is solved from the aspect of internal stress. Self-made high-quality environmental protection glue is used in the production process, so that the formaldehyde emission limit of the product meets the requirements of national standards and is green and environmentally friendly.
