Can ginger really prevent alopecia?
Every winter? Healthy? The hardest hit areas, this year is no exception. ? Does ginger treat hair loss? what's up Legend? Like snowflakes, I will come back as soon as the cold wind blows.

Most of their stories are similar. I used to lose my hair a lot, but later I insisted on wiping my scalp with ginger? , or,? Later, I boiled ginger juice to wipe my hair? The result is very satisfactory. Ginger improved local blood circulation, and since then, the hair has never fallen out and can't be combed? .

Is that really the case?

According to different shapes, human skin can be divided into two types, one is thin skin with hair and the other is thick skin without hair. The former covers most areas of the body, while the latter is mainly distributed in places that need to bear mechanical friction, such as the flexion side of palms and toes.

Structure of skin

Our focus is naturally on the former.

In scalp and other parts, hair can grow out because it has hair follicles.

Friends who love watching science and technology news should know that stem cells are the darling of researchers in the past two years. Generally speaking, ordinary cells have a set of instructions that can only divide a limited number of times, while stem cells are not bound by this.

On the hair follicle, there is another kind of stem cells called hair follicle stem cells. It produces hair in a certain period of time under the moisture, nutrition and regulation of capillaries. Specifically, the hair growth cycle can be divided into three stages:

The first stage is called growth period, which lasts about 3 years. At this time, the hair keeps growing, growing by 0.27-0.4 mm every day, and finally it can grow to about 50 cm.

The second stage, called regression stage, lasts about 3 weeks, when the hair stops growing and enters a relatively stable state;

The third stage, called resting stage, lasts about 3 months, and the hair falls off through apoptosis.

Clinical alopecia can be divided into three types according to its etiology.

The first one is caused by chemotherapy and other reasons, and it is the price that has to be borne by receiving relevant treatment, which is beyond the scope of this article;

The second is caused by other diseases, such as alopecia areata caused by discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), a kind of lupus erythematosus, which belongs to autoimmune hoof joint tissue disease. Does the patient's immune system develop? Rebellion and normal organization? Guilt? In this case, even if ginger is effective for local hair defects, hair loss will continue to occur as long as the primary disease still exists. Therefore, it is the best principle to seek medical treatment as soon as possible and treat the primary disease according to the doctor's advice.

The third is the problem of hair follicle itself. Androgen-induced alopecia is a very typical one with a high incidence. When many people hear this name, they may think that it is a disease that only men suffer from, but it is not. Although there are fewer female patients, it is not uncommon.

Androgenic alopecia is characterized by prolonged hair rest period, which objectively significantly reduces the ratio of growth period to rest period. At the same time, the density and volume of hair follicles gradually decrease, which eventually leads to short and thin hair and easy to fall off.

The etiology of androgenetic alopecia is not clear at present, but a large number of studies show that androgenetic alopecia is closely related to abnormal androgen metabolism. Androgen includes testosterone (T), dihydrotestosterone (DHT), dehydroisoandrosterone (DHEA) and so on. Either way, it must be combined with the corresponding receptor to play a role, and there are abundant androgen receptors in human hair follicles. After binding with androgen, this receptor can form a hormone-receptor complex, interact with specific DNA sequences, regulate gene transcription and express new protein, thus improving cell function. Studies have shown that the expression of androgen receptor in alopecia area is more concentrated than that in patients with alopecia or patients with alopecia, which may be one of the important reasons for androgen alopecia. 1

The main components of ginger are gingerol and gingerol. Experiments on cats show that gingerol does have the effect of dilating blood vessels; The related experiments of isolated guinea pig hearts also show that a certain concentration of gingerol (1? 10-6~3? 10-5 mol) can increase the contractility of left atrium and right atrium. However, first, these data are based on ginger extract perfusion. Is it useful for ginger to wipe the scalp and ginger juice to wipe the hair? In doubt. Secondly, as mentioned above, androgenetic alopecia is a problem of hormone level and local receptor. If these are not improved, simply improving blood circulation will be counterproductive.

Further research also pointed out that gingerol, gingerol and other substances can prolong the resting period of hair, inhibit cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis. In other words, ginger can not only treat hair loss, but also aggravate the condition. three

Everyone has a love of beauty. Who doesn't want to have thick and beautiful hair? Although the cause of alopecia has not been fully understood, there are relatively low-cost and effective schemes for common diseases such as androgenetic alopecia in clinic. Why do you have to turn to ginger? I don't know, it may be counterproductive.
