Three don't say, as the name implies, there are three things not to say. First, if a person dreams, it is clearest in the morning, so it is required not to talk about dreams in the morning. In Taoism, they believe that dreams will hinder personal practice, such as Zhuang's dream, Yi's dream and immortal dream. Only when you don't dream in the morning can you practice. Second, don't talk about killing at noon. Taoism advocates ghosts and gods, and the sun is strongest at noon, which can shock ghosts and gods. It is against Taoism to discuss killing at this time of noon. Third, don't talk about ghosts and gods at night. If the sun is the most abundant at noon, it is just the opposite at night, and the yin is the most abundant. Taoism believes that if you talk about ghosts and gods at the peak of yin, it may lead to disaster.
If you don't ask, there are three things you can't ask. Taoism pursues longevity, so many Taoists live a long life and don't deliberately remember their age. So when you meet a Taoist, don't ask your age. Some Taoists like busy cities, but others like to live in seclusion in Shan Ye. These people usually don't care about the secular world. So if you meet Taoist priests in some deep forests, don't ask them secular things. Taoists have been practicing Taoism all their lives. In their view, everywhere is home, and you can't ask where your native place is.
I'm sorry, but we can't disturb them when they are doing something. First, when they fast. Taoism stipulates that they should recite the mantra before and after eating, and they should not talk while eating, let alone teach others to disturb them. The second is when they are chanting. Taoism believes that they communicate with heaven and earth through chanting, so no one is allowed to disturb them. The third is meditation. Meditation is a way of Taoist practice. They think that this can relax the body and mind and preserve health, because they have to reach the realm of no self when meditating, so they can't be disturbed by others.
