There are many reasons for knee pain and swelling, most of which are caused by adhesion of periosteum and fascia, degeneration of articular cartilage and blockage of surrounding capillaries. According to my years of clinical experience, acupoint massage can achieve the effect of relieving pain and improving and improving knee joint function. Here is a simple and easy acupoint massage technique for knee pain for the reference of elderly friends:
Liang Qiu for acute sprain, calf nose for joint hydrops; Find Kunlun when your knees are cold, and rub them often when your knees hurt; Add gallbladder to pass through the knee, and the three diseases of the hand and the plum will not stay; Kneeling down to draw blood, knee disease elbow cure worry.
Friction pain point
Press with your fingers to find the tenderness point around the knee joint, and rub the thumb and forefinger abdomen at the tenderness point (see Figure ①). The tenderness points are mostly located in the medial and lateral sides of the knee joint, up and down the patella and at the posterior fossa of the knee. The posterior popliteal fossa of the knee can be rubbed with food. Press the note when rubbing each pain point, first from light to key for 20 times, and then from heavy to light for 20 times.
This manipulation can promote the inflammatory absorption of pain points and release adhesion, especially suitable for various chronic knee joint diseases.
Massage acupoints.
Massage some special acupoints around the knee joint 1 min, and it is better to feel sore. When joint edema occurs, it is better to massage acupoints.
1. Cape Snow and Cape Liang Qiu.
Location: The lower limbs are taut, and the muscles on the upper side of the knee joint are the highest, with blood inside and Liang Qiu outside.
Function: Stimulating these two acupoints can effectively increase the blood supply of quadriceps femoris. Combined with quadriceps femoris exercise, it can prevent muscle atrophy, especially improve leg weakness and difficulty in flexion and extension of knee osteoarthritis.
2. Lower leg nose point, knee eye point and Weizhong point.
Location: Bend your knees, the nose point of the calf is located in the lateral depression of the knee, patella and patellar ligament, and the knee eye point is located in the medial depression. Weizhong point is located at the midpoint of popliteal transverse stripes, between biceps femoris tendon and semitendinosus tendon.
Function: Stimulating these three acupoints can increase the blood supply of joints and the secretion of lubricating fluid, and prevent the pain caused by friction.
3. Yinlingquan Point and Yanglingquan Point
Location: Yinlingquan point is located on the inner side of the calf, at the posterior depression of the high bone below the knee. Yanglingquan point is located diagonally below the knee and slightly in front of the lateral high bone of the calf.
Function: Stimulating these two acupoints can dredge the meridians of the lower limbs and improve the abnormal feelings such as weakness and pain of the lower limbs.
4. Sanyinjiao and Zusanli points
Location: Sanyinjiao point is located at the four fingers of the high point of the medial malleolus. Zusanli point is located at the four fingers below the outer knee.
Function: Stimulating these two acupoints can enhance the strength of lower limbs. Has the effects of nourishing liver, spleen and kidney, strengthening steps and strengthening body.
Knead the patella with your palm.
Pressing the patella with the palm of your hand can make the patella move slightly inward and upward while maintaining sufficient pressure. On this basis, the patella can be driven to do circular motion for 2~3 minutes. It is advisable to have acid swelling and warmth under the patella when pressing. It is suitable for hyperosteogeny of knee joint, chondromalacia patellae, edema of knee joint, traumatic adhesion of knee extension device, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Foot massage is both health care and treatment.
