He has served as director of Chinese painting department of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, acting dean and painter of Shanghai China Painting Academy, director of China Artists Association and vice chairman of Shanghai Branch of Artists Association. "Dashi" seal
This seal is often engraved on his paintings by Tang Yun. "Dashi" comes from War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. 1937, the Japanese invasion of China was ignited, and Shanghai was in danger. Hangzhou, not far from Shanghai, is also very worried. Everyone has moved to the mainland. Tang Yun's family moved to the countryside of Dashishan in Fuyang, which is the hometown of his wife Yu Yasheng. Fuyang has beautiful scenery. Whenever he climbed Dashishan to watch the sails on Fuchun River, his earthly troubles were abandoned, as if he were in a paradise, so he was listed as "Dashizhai". Later, when he moved to Shanghai, he carved several seals of "big stones" and carved them on paintings and calligraphy.
"broom" seal
This seal is Tang Yun's private seal, which is used for self-discipline and self-encouragement. On the question of "broom", Tang Yun said that the saying at that time was quoted from The Three Kingdoms by Wei Caopi, that is, "A broom at home is a daughter who enjoys pleasure". He used "broom" to describe his works, that is to say, in the vast ocean of art, he realized that his works were insignificant. On the other hand, when creating, he is conscientious and not careless. Therefore, judging from the "knowing gains and losses" of artistic creation, he is self-respecting and self-loving, and "it is not easy to spend thousands". After more than half a century's efforts, painters have experienced the hardships of artistic creation and cherished their works. It's easy to understand "take care of yourself". It is said that Tang Lao wrote such a poem on a hand scroll written by Lai Chusheng: "It is difficult to shoot when you write, and I am defeated by wine." In front of the works of his peers, he said that he only drank more than himself, but painting was "difficult for you". What an enlightened attitude.
A real artist, if he takes a realistic attitude towards his own creation, has both "self-knowledge" and open-mindedness and inferiority; There is another side of self-respect, self-love and self-esteem. With this viewpoint, attitude and realm, we can form a positive force of "making further progress" in our own creation, without being complacent, without stopping, striving for perfection and making progress forever.
