Jiang Xiangyuan (1868~ 194 1) lived in Luo Qian Village, Chuanbu, Yixing. He was born in Tongzhi for seven years (1868) and died in the 30th year of the Republic of China (194 1). He is a folk purple sand artist. Jiang Xiangyuan studied with his father in his teens and became an artist at the age of 18. Make some general goods (also called rough goods) first. Products include teapots and flower pots. During this period, imitation of ancient wares prevailed in the teapot industry in Luo Qian village, and some powerful collectors often rushed to the door to order and make them. With his courage and wisdom, Jiang Xiangyuan took over a batch of square teapot styles, and skillfully used his accumulated experience in making purple sand square flowerpots in the process of ordering and trial-production, and made samples by hand with clay mosaic method, which was recognized and recognized by merchants.

After two or three years of production, Jiang Xiangyuan fell in love with the modeling of Zisha light goods, and gradually reformed the modeling on the basis of the Quartet, adding innovation to the tradition. Around the 15th year of Guangxu (1890), some merchants asked Jiang Xiangyuan to copy Chen Mingyuan's works (actually, it was a copy of the seal of Mingyuan, but there was no real copy). Because I only heard its name, I didn't see the real thing, so Jiang Xiangyuan used his own rectangular seal of Mingyuan, which was shaped as "Square Bridge Top" and "Square Bridge Top". During this period, there were also antique square teapots made by Jiang Xiangyuan with "Dragon Seal" and "Flower Seal" as the base material, which were sold at home and abroad.

During the Qing Dynasty (1909 ~1911), a kiln owner named Pan in Shushan established "Yangxian Zisha Ceramics Company", and Jiang Xiangyuan was hired as the producer of the company's teapot, and the money was uniformly engraved by the company. The bottom one is "Yixing" and "border print", printed in a square. The border is decorated with irregular patterns, and the word "Yixing" is written from the upper right to the left, with a floral printed logo below. The cover was printed by the author himself. All the teapots made by Jiang Xiangyuan are of this model. The bottom of the teapot is printed with "Yixing" and "edge pattern", and the lid is a rectangular small seal "Xiangyuan". The habit of printing money is on the left side of the air hole, which is one of the unique habits and symbols of Jiang Xiangyuan's seal. The Square Bridge Top Pot, which is now collected by Jiang's descendants, is one of Jiang Xiangyuan's works in this period. This pot is 8 cm high, 0/5 cm wide and 5.5 cm in diameter. It is made of purple sand. The top of the bridge is concave on both sides, bridge opening is round, and the pot body is decorated with the word "Hongxi" according to the impression. The pot weighs 9 Liang, less than 1 kg, and holds 500 cc of water. The bottom section is Yixing and the cover section is xiang yuan.

In the second year of the Republic of China, "Shanghai Tiehuaxuan Pottery Shop" was founded, and Jiang Xiangyuan joined Tiehuaxuan as a shareholder. The purple sand teapots made are all exported to Shanghai Tiehuaxuan, and the purple sand is still light in shape.

Twenty years after the Republic of China, Jiang Xiangyuan gradually got old and quit the purple sand industry. He doesn't go to the teahouse for leisure every day, twice a day, every day. In the 30th year of the Republic of China (194 1), Jiang Xiangyuan died in Luo Qian, Chuanbu, Yixing, at the age of 73.
