Peace of mind is health.
Nowadays, when many people talk about health preservation, they will say one sentence: "Quiet but empty, follow the true qi, hide the spirit inside, be safe but not ill?" What does this sentence mean?

This sentence comes from Su Wen's "On Ancient Innocence", which is also the reason why the Yellow Emperor found that ancient people lived a long and healthy life and went to Zebo, the "Tianshi". Qi Bo replied that ancient people lived a long and healthy life because they were "false thieves, avoiding time", "indifferent to nothingness" and "spiritual defense".

"Health and longevity" is also the teaching of saints.

Questioning health and longevity is not a new topic in today's aging society. The ancient Xuanyuan Huangdi asked this question for us. In Huangdi Neijing, he asked Qi Bo: How can we live as long and healthy as the ancients?

Qi Bo said a very important sentence: "Under the guidance of ancient sages, husbands were called evil spirits and thieves. Sometimes they avoid it and are indifferent to nothingness. With the true spirit, the spirit is hidden inside, and the disease is always safe? " That is to say, those who are proficient in health care in ancient times will say this when educating ordinary people and popularizing health care knowledge: we must avoid evil spirits and guard against thieves on time. Coupled with the emptiness of the fire, the qi runs smoothly and the spirit stays in the body. If so, where did the disease come from?

Is Qi Bo's answer correct, principled and profound? Indeed, as long as you make this answer clear and put it into your own life, you can really live a long and healthy life.

A method of educating people not to get sick

These words are ways to teach people not to get sick. First of all, we must avoid evil spirits and thieves. Deficiency evil and thief wind refer to all exogenous evils that can cause diseases, especially six evils. The so-called six evils are wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness and fire. It was recorded in Zuo Zhuan earlier. The famous doctors in Qin Dynasty believed that the six qi were Yin, Yang, wind, rain, Yin and Ming, which would not cause diseases under normal conditions. They also believed that "six diseases were caused by lewdness" and "many disasters" and put forward the famous theory of "the source of six qi diseases". So, this first lesson is about how to get along with the outside world. We should try our best to avoid offending those factors that can cause diseases, including today's so-called pathogens, and abnormal climate and environmental changes.

Sometimes it can't be avoided, such as the current smog. Try to take preventive measures and wear an anti-smog mask. The "opportunity" of "sometimes avoiding it" is very important, that is, to understand the changes of seasons and seasonal climate and take measures to avoid it as soon as possible.

Secondly, internal prevention is the most important method. What is "nothing"? "Quiet" means indifference, less desire and no pursuit of fame and fortune. Laozi said, "Being calm is the best, winning is not beautiful." Calm is the best practice, and it is not good to be competitive.

In fact, peace can be achieved, but "nothingness" is difficult to achieve. "Nothing" is the highest realm and the realm of Taoism. What is "emptiness"? Lao Tzu said, "Be empty, be quiet", and achieve the ultimate nothingness, be quiet; What is "nothing"? Laozi said "the beginning of the nameless world". Nothing is the beginning and origin of everything in the world. "Zhuangzi Deliberately" said that "the husband is lonely and empty, and this world is flat and virtuous."

"Nihility" is the true nature of heaven and earth and the essence of morality, but it is not completely unattainable. As long as you understand the noumenon and essence of all things in the world, you can achieve it according to your internal skills.

Mental internal training

How to practice? The first is the qi of internal security, which is to keep the essence in the body and prevent it from leaking out.

Then there is "the true qi obeys it", that is, the true qi obeys it and obeys what? What do you mean "from it"? Later generations have a lot of knowledge. I think the first thing to obey is the two main meridians of the human body-Ren meridian and Du meridian, and then the twelve meridians. Finally, we should absorb the true spirit of everything in the world and achieve the unity of heaven and man. If we can do this, we will certainly not get sick.

"Never get sick" means where does the disease come from? How did the disease come about? This "An" means "Where" and "How". For example, Su Dongpo said, "You used to be the greatest man in the world, but now you are safe and sound?" Li Bai said, "Oh, how can I solemnly bow to those high officials whose sincere faces will never be seen?" Keep the essence and the essence in the body to prevent it from leaking out. Where does the disease come from?

Specific methods of "cooling down"

Qi Bo went on to say, "It is based on leisure and less desire, peace of mind and fearlessness, perseverance, obedience, and each has its own desires and its own place. Therefore, eating is beautiful, letting it serve, enjoying its vulgarity and competing for its benefits, and its people are so simple. " What I'm talking about here is actually a concrete way to achieve indifference and nothingness, that is, a concrete way to control one's thoughts and desires.

It means: emotions can be controlled, desires are few, the mind is calm and fearless, the body is not tired, and the righteousness is smooth, then everyone's desires will be satisfied and everyone's wishes will be realized.

Therefore, no matter what kind of food you eat, you feel sweet, no matter what kind of clothes you wear, you feel suitable, no matter what kind of customs you have, you feel happy, and you don't envy them, no matter whether they are high or low, so you can be fearless.

Peace of mind is the most important thing

In ancient times, people were "carefree without desire, safe without fear", and the word "carefree" did not mean carefree. Outside the word is the gate, inside is the wooden word, which is a fence, indicating that a person's emotions and thoughts are blocked and controlled, and they are not allowed to develop at will. Only with peace of mind can we be fearless, neither sad nor happy, even if we are tired and hard, we will never be tired. This shows how important "peace of mind" is.

As early as the Huangdi Neijing era, Zeebe realized the importance of peace of mind.

"Therefore, food is beautiful, let it be served, enjoy its customs, and compete for its benefits. Its people are so simple." Here is a quote from Laozi's Tao Te Ching, in which Chapter 80 says, "I would like to eat, I would like to wear, I would like to live, and I would like to enjoy customs." The first word is an Italian verb, which means: I think the food is sweet, I think the clothes are beautiful, I think the house is nice, and I think life is very happy.

"simplicity" is also advocated by Laozi: "simplicity, selfishness and less desire", "returning to simplicity" and "simplicity" refer to unprocessed wood, which means the state of being natural and timid without asking for anything in return, but it is actually the state of enlightenment. Therefore, the highest state of health preservation is actually to return to the most primitive, simple and authentic state. (Zhang Qicheng)
