The poison of summer-heat and dampness will affect human health. Eating some cool vegetables is conducive to promoting fluid production and quenching thirst, relieving summer heat, clearing away heat and purging fire, expelling toxin and relaxing bowels. Bitter gourd, cucumber, tomato, eggplant, celery, lettuce, asparagus, watercress and cold potato are all cold vegetables. In addition, summer is a season of frequent diseases, especially intestinal diseases. Eating more "sterilized" vegetables such as garlic, onion, leek, green onion and chives can prevent diseases.
The diet is light, but you can't refuse meat dishes. Due to the decrease of gastric acid secretion in summer and drinking more water, the digestive function of the body is weak and the diet should be light. You should eat more nutritious and bland foods and avoid greasy, fried and spicy foods. However, being light does not mean being a vegetarian. Although vegetarian dishes contain a lot of dietary fiber and vitamins, they lack the necessary protein. So, even in hot summer, don't refuse meat dishes. You can eat some lean meat, eggs, milk, fish and bean products appropriately. The key is to use steaming, cold salad and other methods when cooking, not too greasy.
