Second, Taoism advocates "it is better to lose than to pass it on." So the world can't see the true face of Taoism. What we see is mostly the declining and economic "Tao", only its shape is left, and its god is dead.
The real Tao is a system that includes the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China after the practice and full deepening of Laozi's thought of Tao. The content involved is very in-depth and extensive.
Third, Taoism stipulates that "words are unfounded." With the demise of the old Taoist priest, the true Taoism gradually disappeared, while the modern society is eager for quick success and instant benefit, forming the wind of "superstition".
Fourth, the national religious policy cannot be implemented. So far, there is no religious law, and the basic interests of Taoism cannot be protected. Only a few Taoist temples became empty shells.
Fifth, there are no successors. Many modern people can't bear hardships, can't stand loneliness, or prefer magic, or like fame and fortune, or escape from reality, or covet personal interests. The purpose is different. No one can really inherit.
Buddhism changes with time, while Taoism is extremely passive. The negative result, on the one hand, encourages the retention of some traditional rules and cultures, on the other hand, it also encourages the prevalence of pseudo-Taoism.
Therefore, most of the Taoism we see is a "superstitious" activity for quick success and instant benefit, and it is difficult to restore its original appearance.
