Fishing City stands on the fishing mountain at an altitude of 39 1.22 meters in Dongcheng District, Hechuan City, Chongqing. It is a famous battlefield, a national key scenic spot and a national key cultural relics protection unit during the Song and Meng (Yuan) War.

Fishing City is located at the intersection of Jia, Fu and Qu rivers. When the waters in northeast Sichuan meet, the situation is absolutely magnificent. In the late Southern Song Dynasty, the Mongolian khanate launched an attack on the Southern Song Dynasty. Yu Jie, the ambassador of Sichuan and the magistrate of Chongqing, adopted the suggestion of the Ran brothers in Bozhou (now Zunyi, Guizhou), built a city in Yushan, moved to Hezhou and Zhao Shi counties for rule, and stationed troops to accumulate grain as a barrier for Chongqing. From A.D. 1243 to A.D. 1279, the soldiers and civilians of Fishing City, under the leadership of commanders Wang Jian and Zhang Jue, "plowed in the spring; In autumn, we fight to defend ourselves with food and wages. After more than 200 battles, we fought against the division of Mongolian Yuan, creating a miracle of "persisting in the war of resistance for 36 years" which is rare in the history of ancient and modern Chinese and foreign wars, and achieved brilliant victory in killing Mongolian Khan and forcing the Mongolian empire to withdraw from the Eurasian battlefield in an all-round way. Since then, the fishing town has erected an immortal monument in the medieval history of the world to "continue the Song Left, alleviate the disaster of the Eurasian War, and prevent Mongolia from expanding to Africa".

Fishing Town is a famous Chinese and foreign city that rewrote the medieval history of the world, and it is the best preserved ancient battlefield site in China so far. In the 2.5-square-kilometer fishing town key protected area, there are 8 kilometers of city walls and 8 gates, as well as military and living facilities in Song and Yuan Dynasties, such as battery, plank road, back door, barracks, Shuaifu and Tianchi, as well as places of interest such as the reclining Buddha, the Maitreya Buddha, the 800-year-old osmanthus tree, the national protection temple and the eight scenic spots of Fish Mountain in the Tang Dynasty. There are poems by famous historical figures such as Wen Tianxiang, Liu Kezhuang, Chen Yi, Guo Moruo, Zhang Aiping and Liu, as well as cliff stone carvings by Kuomintang military and political officials such as He and Zhang Zhizhong.
