The limbs of the fake tiger bone are straight, and the joints often suddenly swell like a ball. The bone surface is angular and the hand bone is light. The limbs of real tiger bones are thick and slightly curved, and the bone surface has obvious edges and corners. The hand-held texture is solid and heavy.
Each limb skeleton has two segments, the upper segment is a bone and the lower segment consists of two bones. There is an "or" eye or "or" in the upper segment of the forelimb. The main bone at the lower end of the forelimb is long, the lateral bone is short, the upper segment of the hind limb is cylindrical, the lateral bone is thick and prismatic, and the lateral bone is soft and thin. The gap in the cross section of the limb accounts for one-third of the bone, and it is true that the bone marrow inside is loofah-like.
Tiger bone, also known as big worm bone and tiger bone, is the dry bone of cats and tigers. Tiger bone wine made from tiger bone soaked in wine is a specific medicine for strengthening bones and muscles, expelling wind and removing dampness, and treating joint pain, limb contracture and waist and leg weakness. This is a precious medicinal material, which is not easy to obtain.
Other methods to identify tiger bones:
(1) Look at the relative density. Tiger bones are dense and hard, which is different from other animal bones in the same place and volume. The relative density (specific gravity) of tiger bones is almost twice that of cattle bones.
(2) Looking at the cross section of limb bone: the fake tiger bone limb has a long cross section, with thick bone and thin wall, a large cavity in the bone, and a small amount of bone marrow attached to the inner wall, which forms a rare network after drying.
The cross section of the long bone of the real tiger bone limbs is thin and thick, with small cavities in the bone and a lot of bone marrow attached to the inner wall. After drying, these bone marrow forms a network, accounting for more than two-thirds of the cross section of limb bone, which is brown and has a special and strong fishy smell.
(3) Look at the soles of the feet and toes: the front foot of the real tiger bone has five toes, the back foot has four toes, and the toes have short claw hooks; There are no short claw hooks at the toe ends of the front and rear toes of fake tiger bones, and counterfeiters usually stick the claws of other animals with glue.
(4) Look at the fur color: the fur color of fake tiger bones is unnatural, and some will fade when soaked in boiling water, indicating that it has been dyed; Real tiger bones are bright and natural in color, and will not fade when soaked in boiling water.
