Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (hereinafter referred to as Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine) is a full-time public university approved by China Ministry of Education and managed by Hunan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission and Hunan Provincial Education Department. It is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. Deng Jianzhong, Party Secretary, and Zhou Jinxi, President. The school motto is "Benevolence, Honesty, Persistence and Zhiyuan".

By 2022, the school will have two campuses, Zhuzhou Songlu and Yunlong, covering an area of more than 700 mu, with a total construction area of 1.85 million square meters and more than 500 teaching and administrative staff.

There are 7 teaching colleges (departments) including College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, School of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Rehabilitation and Health Care, College of Marxism and Department of Public Education. There are 20 specialties such as Chinese medicine, clinical medicine, acupuncture and massage, Chinese medicine, pharmacy, medical imaging technology, Chinese medicine health care and rehabilitation treatment technology, 6 on-campus training centers and 60 off-campus training bases.

The school, formerly known as Zhuzhou Health School, was founded in 1959. 1986 was renamed as Zhuzhou College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hunan Province, 1990 was renamed as Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and was upgraded to Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2004.

Teaching construction:

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "developing the school with quality, strengthening the school with talents and developing the school with characteristics", the school actively explores the school-running rules of Chinese medicine colleges and establishes a curriculum system suitable for the development characteristics of Chinese medicine specialty, among which the national excellent course "Massage Techniques" has been successfully transformed into the national excellent courses "Medical Psychology", "Massage Techniques", "Meridians and Acupoints" and "Surgery of Chinese Medicine".

In 20 15, our school took the lead in successfully applying for the construction project of national vocational education inheritance and innovation acupuncture and massage teaching resource database. Traditional Chinese medicine is a provincial major, acupuncture and massage is a provincial key major, and it is a pilot major of comprehensive reform in colleges and universities in Hunan Province during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan. Massage is the key subject of Chinese medicine construction in state administration of traditional chinese medicine during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. The construction of training base of TCM specialty has been supported by the central government, and TCM specialty and nursing specialty have become the development majors of higher vocational colleges supported by the central government.
