The importance of studying ancient medical literature.

Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine | Wang Weichuan

I just started to learn Chinese medicine, and several classics, such as Neijing, Difficult Classics, Typhoid Fever, Synopsis of Golden Chamber, etc. , are introduced for the first time. However, these books belong to "Qin and Han scripts" and have no knowledge of ancient Chinese, but they are really difficult to read, so ancient Chinese medicine has an important relationship with Chinese medicine. A doctor with an old saying must be familiar with the annals of the Three Kingdoms. The so-called three generations: acupuncture, Shen Nong's materia medica and Motome's pulse prescription. Therefore, doctors are not three things, so it is impossible to talk about doctors, and it is clear that these books were written in the Qin and Han Dynasties. Last year, there were six important books in Chengdu Yishengtang Bookstore: doctor's supplementary notes, left Qin He's biographical supplementary notes, new biographical supplementary notes, new biographical supplementary notes, later Han Hua Tuo's biographical supplementary notes, and new supplementary notes. Professor Zheng Xiaochang of Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine once said: "To learn Chinese medicine well, you must learn ancient Chinese first, and nothing else." Strengthening the study of ancient medical classics is conducive to the comprehensive and coordinated development of medical students' basic quality, and it is the need of students' all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty ... As the sum total of behavioral norms regulating the relationship between doctors and patients and related personnel, medical ethics has a long history of emergence and development in China, and has experienced the advocacy of replacing doctors, constantly enriching and developing the medical ethics content in China. Ancient medical literature itself has the characteristics of knowledge, ideology and literariness, which plays a very important role in improving medical students' medical ethics. There are many examples of discussing medical ethics and describing the demeanor of famous doctors in ancient medical literature, which are the crystallization of China's ancient moral concept and medicine. This is not only a valuable legacy in China's medical treasure house, but also a vivid teaching material for medical students' medical ethics education. Its contents are not only reflected in many outstanding medical doctors (such as Bian Que in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, Sun Simiao in the Tang Dynasty and Li Shizhen in the Ming Dynasty), but also in many writings. For example, medicine is called "the skill of the sage" in Neijing, and it is also called "the skill of the benevolent" in later generations, which fully shows that medical students should have high wisdom and noble medical ethics. Another example is the famous doctor Sun Simiao's "Thousand Gold Prescriptions * Great Doctors Sincerity", which is not only a famous medical ethics monograph in the history of Chinese medicine, but also a model essay on medical ethics education for later doctors. The book regards "preciseness" (specialty) and "honesty" (noble character) as two standards of doctor's cultivation, and holds that "human life is the most important, and there is a treasure of thousands of dollars. If one side helps it, morality will surpass it." This paper puts forward strict requirements for doctors' academic attitude, diagnosis and treatment style, ideological accomplishment and academic morality, and the views discussed still have a very positive educational effect on medical students today. More importantly, the content of medical ethics in ancient medical literature is far from empty preaching. It is more acceptable for students to speak with a lot of emotional facts, which becomes an inherent quality and spirit in a subtle way, thus playing a role in improving medical students' medical ethics.
