The so-called ecological fish pond is to create a natural environment in which ornamental fish, algae, microorganisms, higher aquatic plants and benthos grow harmoniously according to the principle of natural ecological balance, including high-grade villa fish ponds, park community landscape fish ponds and self-built fish ponds.
Ecological fish ponds have three main construction features:
First, the main part of the ecological fish pond
According to the needs of the site, circular, semi-circular and elliptical corner designs are usually adopted, so that the pool water will not produce dead corners in the flow cycle. In addition, the bottom of the fish pond will be funnel-shaped, so that the fish manure and residual bait in the fish pond can be collected to the drainage hole more easily.
Secondly, the filtration system of ecological fish ponds.
After the water in the fish pond is treated by the filtration system, some toxic substances, such as ammonia and nitrite, are converted into non-toxic nitrates. Although nitrate is not toxic, it is easy to accumulate. Living in such water for a long time will reduce koi fish's immunity. Therefore, the ecological fish pond has added a plant waterway. By planting emergent plants with well-developed roots in plant waterways, nitrate in water can be absorbed by the well-developed roots of plants, thus reducing the occurrence of fish diseases.
Third, stocking fish.
In addition to ornamental fish, some benthic anglerfish and shrimp are also raised in the ecological fish pond, which is beneficial to the decontamination characteristics of these fish, decomposing some residual bait and reducing the burden of the filtration system.
The filtration system of an ecological fish pond generally consists of six parts: sedimentation bin, physical filtration bin, biochemical filtration bin, sewage bin, clear water bin and plant waterway, and the filtration system of a fish pond generally accounts for more than 20% of the total area of the fish pond.
