An Overview of Gu Xuanyue
One of the decorative techniques of porcelain. Also known as "porcelain tire painting enamel", later called "Guyuexuan" and abroad called "rose color". Use foreign pigments, a variety of colors, accurate color control; The picture is three-dimensional, exquisite and magnificent. It flourished in the years of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, and was designed as a "secret play of the imperial palace". When Kangxi was in Kangxi, he painted patterns on the plain-burned porcelain tires, including yellow, blue, red, bean green, crimson and other colors, and imitated the copper tire enamel with the double hook method. Yongzheng combined with multicolored techniques to paint on white porcelain; When Qianlong painted in imitation of western oil paintings, the themes of the characters in the picture increased.

The difficulty of ancient Xuanyue firing mainly lies in that the glaze temperature is almost the same as the melting point of the tire, which requires craftsmen to strictly control the furnace temperature and the thickness of the tire. Moreover, a finished product of Gu Yuexuan has to be colored several times and fired repeatedly. If you are not careful, you will lose all your efforts. The ancient finished products are well-made, with unique patterns and two or four small poems. There are also ancient three fonts and firing age on the artifacts. It is a collection of poems, books and paintings, and it can be called a masterpiece of handicrafts in the Qing Dynasty, and it is still favored by people. There were three explanations about the origin of the word ancient. It is said that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1736 ~ 1796 reigned), there was an ancient mysterious moon. In addition, Gu is an exquisite feeder made by a craftsman named Hu and later imitated by the Royal Kiln. There is also a saying that there has never been an Guyuexuan feeder, which was invented by antique dealers. In recent years, some people even put forward a new theory, that is, painting enamel with porcelain tires is a concern. However, these statements lack exact theoretical and physical basis and cannot be trusted. Gu Xuanyue is still a mystery in the fields of cultural relics, museums and arts and crafts.
