The names of the residential quarters in Fangzhuang are very distinctive, that is, the names all have the word "Fang". The four largest quarters are called Garden, Fangcheng Garden, Fangqun Garden and Fangxing Garden. Connecting the middle names of these four communities means "ancient city star", which means the new bright spot of ancient Beijing. Other communities include Star Garden and Zifang Garden.

Fangzhuang has a famous food street, Pufang Road. There are many restaurants on both sides of Pufang Road, such as Quanjude, Jinshancheng, Komori, Du Yi, Jindingxuan, KFC (3 restaurants), McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Haolongge, Jinhansi, Daqinghua, Haidilao, Lao Xi 'an Restaurant, Hannashan Barbecue and so on. And in recent years, new restaurants have been stationed in Fangzhuang.

There are three shopping malls in Fangzhuang, namely Carrefour, wu mart and Fangzhuang Shopping Center (Fangzhuang Gui You closed on March 3rd, 20 13).

Fangzhuang has mature medical, educational and sports facilities. Due to its early construction and neat planning, Fangzhuang has become a very livable cultural community.

In addition, the middle school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music, known as the "No.1 Conservatory of Music in Asia", is also located here.

Fangzhuang is still under development and construction. Fangzhuang New District is under construction on the east side of the original area, and high-end residential quarters such as Fanglinyuan, Zaoan Fangzhuang and Times Zifang have been newly built.
