The nose, also known as Tang Ming and Wang Mian in Chinese medicine, is one of the five senses. The essence of human syndrome can be distinguished from the signs of nose, thus guiding clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment.
Doctor Zhang Zhongjing, dry nose, a symptom; Snoring is inevitable, caused by wind and temperature; Snoring and apoplexy; Nasal congestion, cold and wet head; Black and blue face and abdominal pain, bitter and cold people die; And so on.
Modern TCM diagnostics can judge the exterior and interior, cold and heat, deficiency and excess, yin and yang of patients from the changes of nose, such as nasal furuncle, which is generally a fire of heart and lung and burns on the upper jiao; A bright nose is a sign of "drinking"; Clearing your nose is a common cold.
The reason why TCM can diagnose and treat diseases through nose is that nose is closely related to viscera and meridians. Huangdi Neijing has long established the theory that the lung opens in the nose. The modern Chinese medicine theory is characterized by the overall concept that the nose opens in the five internal organs, not just the lung.
Nose and heart
Su Wen's theory of five internal organs says: "Five qi enters the nose and hides in the heart and lungs, which are sick and the nose is unfavorable."
Nose and liver
The third volume of medical alcohol righteousness says: "Yang evil is external, liver fire is internal burning, nose is half open, yellow water sometimes flows, and brain leakage is also caused by fire injury."
Nose and spleen and stomach
"The Secret of Outer Taiwan" says: "The spleen and stomach are in harmony, and the stomach is full of Yangming. Its pulse starts from the nose and surrounds the lips, and it branches into the spleen and stomach."
Nose and kidneys
"Su Wen Xuan Wu Mingqi" says: "When all five qi are sick, the heart is strange ... and the kidney lacks it."
Nose and Meridian
A part of the twelve meridians begins and ends at the nose, or is connected around the nose. Massage the important acupoints in the nose can dredge the meridians, promote qi and blood, reconcile yin and yang, and make the meridians circulate normally.
Traditional Chinese medicine has nasal therapy, that is, various therapies that use the nose as medicine or stimulation site, and its action site is not limited to the nasal cavity, but the whole nose, such as nasal acupuncture. "Li Long's Articles and Articles" said: "the twelve meridians opens from the nose."
Since the relationship between the nose and the whole body is so close, it is logical to achieve the goal of health and longevity through the nose. It is said that he lived to the age of 89 and was the longest-lived emperor in all dynasties. In his "ten regular" regimen, "always rub your nose".
