Mr. Hu is not only proficient in bamboo flute, but also familiar with cucurbit flute, Bawu, Yu, Xiao and many other China wind instruments, among which bamboo flute playing skills are superb. His performances are always full of passion, unrestrained and provocative, which is his unique artistic style. He is good at grasping the connotation of music and endowing it with appropriate expressions, which makes the audience strongly infected. Because of this, his performance is not only loved by domestic audiences, but also highly appreciated by foreign friendly people. For example, when he visited Canada, Malaysia and other countries, every performance was warmly welcomed. In addition to playing, Mr. Hu is also committed to writing. Therefore, in the past 40 years, he has created a considerable number of works of different genres. Among them, the bamboo flute concerto Car Shop, the erhu concerto Shihaoguan, the acoustic music The Hut Was Blown by Autumn Wind, the bamboo flute solo I am a soldier, On the Jockey Club, Praise for Hometown, Here comes the cuckoo, and Morning Song of the Military Camp won awards in the whole country, the whole army, provinces and cities. So most of his works have been published or made into audio products.

Mr. Hu's personal monographs have been published successively, including Playing the Flute, Basic Practice of the Flute, Selected Flute Solos, Music Collection, and Flute Etudes.

Audio products include: Du Fu's poems and music paintings, China bamboo music, Southwest bamboo flute, Hu Ju's 16 selected flute solos (A and B are a set) and other albums, music cassettes and CDs. Among them, The Garage Shop, The Cuckoo Comes, The Spring of the Dai Family, The Jockey Club and other works have been made into CDs and published in the form of music by Hong Kong, Britain, Malaysia and other countries. In addition, Mr. Hu has written many papers and published more than 100 articles in publications or newspapers. Among them, articles such as A Preliminary Talk on Blowing Method, From Throat to Self-accompaniment, Miscellaneous Talk on Flute Playing, Talking about Flute Pitch, and Talking about Living Blowing from Dead Spectrum were rated as excellent papers and included in the book.

In recent years, he has done a lot of research on music and human health, and has successively created and published three qigong music albums, namely, China Hexiangzhuang Qigong, China Random Dragon Tour and China Yizhi Longevity Gong. His new research achievement "China Wuxing Music for Health" (a set of three-tone tapes) has also been published by People's Music Publishing House. Mr. Hu not only created the above qigong music, but also wrote quite in-depth papers, such as "Three-point Profit and Loss Method with Five Elements Opposing each other", "Qigong Music and Music Qigong" and "Joy of Yin and Yang".

Mr. Hu has been engaged in artistic work for more than forty years. He is not only conscientious and meticulous in his work, but also diligent in learning, good at exploration and brave in innovation. In the long-term performance practice, he explored new techniques such as "including blowing", "singing by himself", "homophonic finger changing" and "throat sound", which injected new blood into the performance art of bamboo flute and enriched its performance skills. Together with Mr. Yang Sheng, he also developed the "Bow Flute" with a rich voice, and won the national patent and excellent new product award. In his spare time, Mr. Hu actively teaches bamboo flute skills. For decades, he has taught a large number of students, including more than 30 international students who came to China. Some foreign friendly people came to China to learn flute from Mr. Hu. Teacher Hu is as active, rigorous, serious and patient in teaching as in other jobs. He not only teaches students the essentials and methods of mastering various skills of bamboo flute, but also teaches students the experience of playing bamboo flute without reservation, so that students can master the true meaning of playing bamboo flute.

Mr. Hu is in his prime, and he is still trying to cultivate folk music in his eighties. In order to promote national music, on 20 12, Mr. Hu joined many well-known local performers and fans in Chengdu to register and establish the Hu Art Center to inherit national art.
