On July 26th, I had the honor to attend the summer training course for teachers of mental health education in primary and secondary schools in Jiangsu Province, which was sponsored by the Civilization Office of Jiangsu Province and the Education Department of Jiangsu Province, and undertaken by the Jiangsu Academy of Educational Sciences. During the whole four-day study and training activities, I listened carefully to the vivid and wonderful lectures of psychological education experts together with educators from all cities in the province, which not only gave us a rational understanding of "students' psychological health education", but also got zero-distance guidance from experts on some problems often encountered in practical work. This training means a lot to me. Let me have a chance to calm down and re-examine our mental health education and all kinds of educational behaviors that we are used to. The mission of "school mental health education" is to promote students' success, happy growth and all-round development.

What is education? Rousseau, a famous French thinker, simply told us the true meaning of education-"Education is growth", and education is to make everyone's nature and innate ability grow healthily. The essence of education, I think, is to remind all educators that education should cherish the demands of children's lives and stand in the position of children.

The true meaning of education also determines the mission of students' mental health education, that is, to help all students have a positive and sunny attitude, thus promoting their success, happy growth and all-round development. Therefore, school mental health education should not have the mentality of being eager for quick success and instant benefit, and should not be simply subject-oriented and knowledgeable; Medicine and technology need teachers to communicate with students attentively, untie students' tangled knots and dispel the haze in students' hearts.

Second, "knowing students" is the premise and foundation of mental health education.

Most parents and teachers have the view that only a good university can find a good job! From the standpoint of adults, everyone plans the direction, pace and even speed of children's progress. However, what do children think? What do students really need? Do our plans for children conform to their physical and mental development? These problems have been ignored by us again and again, and even thrown aside. As a result, a series of psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, fragility, inferiority, loneliness and rebellion, entered the children's hearts under the subjective assumptions and behavioral interventions of adults.

Mental health education focuses on communication and understanding between teachers and students. As a psychological educator, we must study the physiological characteristics of students and understand their psychological needs and demands. We should understand that adolescence is a period of rapid development in all aspects of children's physiology, and contradiction and turmoil are its basic psychological characteristics. Teenagers have strong cognition, rapid development of self-awareness, rich and unstable emotions, and the needs of many adults have begun to appear, and psychological resistance has also begun to appear. Only by understanding these characteristics of children can we make a rational analysis of children's behavior appearances, so as to find the crux of children's psychological problems and intervene accordingly.

At the same time, different children's psychological problems may have their own characteristics, but they must have their own personality characteristics. As psychological educators, we should crouch down and pay more attention to children's personality and psychological characteristics, which may take up a lot of our time and energy, but I think psychological education is a "heart" cause. Without the patience, confidence and perseverance of fools to move mountains, psychological education can only become a mere formality, and some can only become superficial and powerless, and will eventually regret it.

Third, mental health education should pay attention to methods and art.

In school mental health education, psychological counseling teachers must adopt certain ways and means. What way to choose and what means to take are directly related to the realization of psychological education goals and the completion of tasks. Proper methods can effectively realize the goal of mental health education; If the method is improper, it will not only be difficult to achieve the expected educational effect, but also may offset the role of other education and even interfere with future educational work. For example, most students have psychological problems in their studies. What is the crux of the problem? Psychological counseling teachers must study it carefully. Is it caused by parents demanding too much? Or is it caused by the physical condition of the students? Or is the student's self-image flawed? Teachers must make accurate analysis and judgment, adopt reasonable methods for psychological counseling and conduct corresponding behavior training.

Mental health education should also pay attention to art, be able to listen, accept, effectively guide and make people feel comfortable. Mental health education must follow the principle of unconditional active concern, sincerity, empathy. There are still many taboos in mental health education: simple judgment, subjective judgment, over-rationality, and rude remarks. ...

To solve students' psychological problems, there must be scientific methods and people with professional qualifications to implement them. When students are in school, the most contact is the class teacher and teachers of various subjects. If all teachers in the school can pay attention to the formation of students' healthy psychology, find students' psychological problems as soon as possible, communicate with psychological counselors in time, analyze and study together, and cooperate with psychological counselors to do a good job, I think this is more conducive to helping students solve psychological problems as soon as possible and form healthy psychology.

Family is the harbor where students live, and family members are the closest people to children. Their life interaction with children greatly affects the formation of children's healthy psychology. Therefore, it is necessary to form a "strategic alliance" with parents of students in psychological education. In the case of teacher Su Hua's psychological education in Nanjing Jinling Middle School, I noticed that she used the parent-teacher conference to introduce the concept of communication with children to parents. If teachers can really persuade parents to change their misunderstanding of children, change their inherent concept of family education, and change the ways and means of communicating with children, it will undoubtedly be the most beneficial and effective for children's psychological problems.

Fifth, strengthen theoretical study and keep teachers' own healthy psychology. Mental health education has a long way to go.

To do a good job in students' mental health education, every educator should not only focus on the theoretical research and practice of subject teaching. What we have to do is to pick up the psychology-related works that we have left aside and learn some practical monographs on students' psychological counseling with the times. Mental health educators should devote themselves to the study and research in this field. We should always remember that when a child is sitting in your psychological counseling room, you have the obligation to analyze, diagnose and guide his psychological problems.
