Li Zongen (1894.9.26 ——1962) was born in Wujin, Jiangsu (now Changzhou), a physician, a tropical pathologist, a medical educator and an academician of Academia Sinica. He worked in Peking Union Medical College 1923 to 1937, and served as a teaching assistant, associate professor, associate professor and professor. From 65438 to 0948, Li Zongen was elected as the first academician of Academia Sinica. 1957 was wrongly classified as a "Rightist" and sent to Kunming as an outpatient doctor of internal medicine and became a full-time clinician (later transferred to a librarian due to old age and infirmity). 1962, Li Zongen died in Kunming.
Li Zongen was engaged in medical education and scientific research all his life. The first academician of Academia Sinica and the president of Union Medical College.
