Wang Qi likes studying very much since he was a child. When New China was founded, he began to study Chinese medicine with the help of Mr. Jiang, a famous local Chinese medicine practitioner. Jiang is very strict with his disciples. In a few years, Wang Qi learned the medicine of distinguishing diseases, made a visit to treat diseases, studied China medical classics, and accumulated solid knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese pharmacy. Soon, he will be able to practice medicine independently. In the late 1970s, Wang Qi became the first batch of Chinese medicine graduate students after the Cultural Revolution. In the process of studying, he happened to find that 25 people of Yin and Yang were mentioned in Huangdi Neijing, which immediately aroused his interest.
Huangdi Neijing divides people into five types according to Jin Mu's five elements of fire, water and soil. Five types of people produce five subtypes, so there are 25 types. However, there is no similar research in later TCM classics, only some classics have scattered descriptions and no systematic records. Therefore, he intends to take the study of human physique as the research direction of his graduation thesis.
However, to his surprise, his teacher was the first to question. The teacher said: "Chinese medicine constitution has not existed since ancient times." If you do this, you may not graduate. "However, after careful consideration, Wang Qi thought it was possible to conduct in-depth research, so he decided to go ahead. Seeing Wang Qi's persistence, the teacher always supported him. . Later, his thesis "On the Importance of TCM Constitution Theory in Clinical Medicine" was highly recognized by the judges and stayed as a teacher after graduation. After graduation, Wang Qi didn't give up the study of TCM constitution. He thought that he could continue to study deeply, so he began a difficult exploration.
Creating a new theory is unprecedented. It must have its own unique viewpoint and be supported by practice. Wang Qi has made great efforts to this end. While teaching and visiting, he rides a bicycle from Xiyuan Hospital to the school library whenever he has time to study and sort out the vast amount of ancient Chinese medicine literature. The librarian said, how can teachers be more diligent than students?
When he was tired, Wang Qi went to the street or the bus stop to observe the crowd and test his experience on them. After in-depth research, Wang Qi and Sheng Zengxiu co-wrote a paper "On TCM Constitution Theory", and the concept of "TCM Constitution Theory" was published for the first time. In the following decades, he applied this theory to the clinic of traditional Chinese medicine and achieved very good results.
20 12 hannett, vice mayor of cologne, Germany, came to experience the diagnosis and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. Wang Qi told Annette after taking her pulse that she belongs to the constitution of yang deficiency, and she usually has poor digestive function and is afraid of cold. Hearing this, Annette opened her eyes wide and shouted "Unbelievable, amazing". She said: "I deliberately don't talk about the old problems of stomachache and cold hands and feet. I didn't expect to be seen through by Professor Wang's' critical vision'. "
Because of his unique theory and unconventional spirit, many people call him "the strange doctor in Beijing". Many people come here, so his clinic is full of hopeless patients. Some people wear cotton-padded clothes in midsummer and say it's cold, some people sweat in March and September, some people complain about drinking cold water and growing meat, and so on. Wang Qi solved their sufferings one by one according to his own constitutional theory.
Every time he makes a diagnosis and treatment, Wang Qi will record all the information, including the patient's behavior, traits, posture, age, prescription and curative effect, and then make a systematic analysis, and then gradually adjust his thinking angle from seeing a doctor to analyzing the types of people, so as to gradually discover the correlation between some constitutions and diseases. For example, people with qi deficiency are prone to sagging organs and catching a cold; People in damp heat constitution are prone to acne and eczema; People with allergies are prone to allergic diseases and so on.
In order to better understand people's bodies, Wang Qi began to organize students to conduct a large number of surveys. In 20 years, he and his students conducted a nationwide survey of hundreds of thousands of people from different regions and nationalities. After discovering a physique type, we should make a targeted investigation and try our best to speak with evidence and data. After years of investigation, Wang Qi has successively summarized seven constitutions, namely, peace constitution, yin deficiency constitution, qi deficiency constitution, yang deficiency constitution, phlegm-dampness constitution, damp heat constitution constitution and blood stasis constitution, and made initial progress in TCM constitution. Later, according to my own clinical experience, I summed up two types of special constitution and qi stagnation constitution, and finally determined them as nine kinds of constitutions. At this point, the constitution theory of traditional Chinese medicine was formally established.
On the basis of many years' research, Wang Qi edited and published the first monograph of TCM Physiology in China. Since then, the study of TCM constitution theory has blossomed everywhere. According to incomplete statistics, in recent years, there have been more than 1300 academic papers on TCM constitution. Wang Qi has also trained 88 post-doctors, doctors and masters.
The book Constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine not only plays a very important role in treating diseases in traditional Chinese medicine, but also is very helpful for individual constitution conditioning. Easy to understand, easy to symptomatic, easy to know their own physical types after reading, which is of great significance to daily health.
