How to make your own fertilizer for growing vegetables
Materials needed for self-made plant fertilizer: foam box, various plant wastes, water and soil.

Step 1: Prepare a big foam box.

The principle of fermentation is basically used to make organic fertilizer, so fermentation sites are needed. To make organic fertilizer at home, there is no land and factory building for composting and other fermentation space, so it is necessary to make organic fertilizer by container fermentation.

The size of the container depends on the number of vegetables grown at home. It is best to seal the mouth of the container (it can be sealed during fermentation to prevent the smell from spreading indoors), and use a wide-mouth container to facilitate the filling and discharge of raw materials. In addition, the container should be corrosion-resistant and sunlight-resistant.

Step 2: Throw away the waste that can be used as fertilizer in life.

The sources of making organic fertilizer are very extensive, including human and animal manure, animals and their excreta, degradable kitchen waste, vegetables and fruits (families basically produce some peels and yellow vegetables, etc.). ), crop stalks, weeds, leaves (dead leaves), easily decomposed domestic garbage, sludge, etc. , rich in organic matter, easy to decompose.

But for families, we should consider the odor problem in the process of production and use. Therefore, it is suggested to avoid using human and animal feces and animal products and fatty kitchen waste meat as much as possible. The organic fertilizer made from these raw materials is likely to produce a lot of odor, and once improperly operated, it may also produce virus or bacterial pollution. For families, it is more suitable to use plant raw materials.

Step 3: Continue to collect garbage, because if there is too little, the effect of composting will not be achieved.

The fourth step, after collecting to a certain extent, sprinkle water on the garbage and pour it into the soil. You can also collect some litter and add fertilizer to the soil.

Step 5: After laying the clay, sprinkle some water to make the soil dense.

Step 6, cover it and seal it tightly. If the foam box cover is not tight, it can be wrapped with plastic film. Even if this step is completed, just wait for fermentation. With the fermentation, the surface thickness of the materials in the container will gradually decrease. When the material thickness stabilizes (it takes about half a month to a month), you can grow vegetables.
