In April, 20021year, I received a patient in the outpatient department. He is a 48-year-old middle-aged man. He just had a physical examination and found nothing wrong. But he told me that in recent days, he felt that his physical fitness had obviously declined, and asked me to help him adjust his body through Chinese medicine. This patient has a deep influence on me, because not many people come to recuperate in the outpatient clinic for so many years. It can be seen that China people's awareness of health care is still insufficient or incorrect.
On the surface, this man is in good health and should be strong. Most people will also think that he is a very healthy person and there is nothing wrong with the instrument. At present, most people don't have the concept of nip in the bud. As long as they don't feel particularly uncomfortable, they feel fine. But they don't know that many people are already a volcano, and big problems may occur at any time.
The man has a dark complexion, yellow greasy tongue coating, yellow urine and stool, rotten stool, purple lips and rapid pulse. Poor sleep easily wakes you up. Judging from his appearance, he is not a very cheerful person. He said there was nothing particularly uncomfortable, but he thought he should come to recuperate. Ordinary people see things differently from doctors. I was diagnosed as liver meridian dampness and blood stasis.
Prescription: Longdan Xiegan Pill, except for swallowing powder: Coptidis Rhizoma, Salvia Miltiorrhiza Radix and Notoginseng Radix each 3g/ day.
More than ten days later, the man came back for a follow-up visit and said that although he didn't feel anything, he relaxed a lot and his sleep improved. I don't think his face is that black. Because he has severe blood stasis. On the basis of the original prescription, I opened Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis.
In fact, this seemingly healthy person, if he continues to develop, may suddenly be knocked down by cardiovascular disease or gout or even cancer.
Because it is a process from quantitative change to qualitative change, from gradual change to mutation, from overall human dysfunction to disease occurrence, and the initial stage of this process is the most effective period of "disease prevention". People should pay attention to health preservation, cultivate healthy qi, improve the body's ability to resist evil, and nip in the bud.
"Neijing" says: "Virtual evil steals wind, so it is sometimes avoided. Nothing is indifferent, and the true qi goes with it. The spirit, the disease is always safe. " Its core is "prevention before illness", that is, preparing for a rainy day, preventing slow progress, and preventing problems before they happen.
So how can we nip in the bud? Then it is necessary to "protect the spleen and stomach and protect the righteousness." Paying attention to the maintenance of spleen and stomach is a major feature of TCM's thought of preventing diseases. Zhang Zhongjing, a medical sage, once put forward the view that "the spleen flourishes at four seasons and is not affected by evil". In other words, as long as people's spleen and stomach function remains vigorous all the year round, internal and external diseases and pathogens will not invade the human body.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the stomach belongs to the viscera, and the spleen belongs to the viscera, both of which are external and internal. Stomach governs reception and spleen governs transport and transformation. The digestive process starts from the stomach, and Shui Gu's essence is transformed into qi, blood and body fluid. It passes through the intestine and is then used by all tissues and organs in the body. Among them, the role of spleen is very important. Spleen not only transports subtle and dampness, but also has the function of nourishing the muscles of limbs. Therefore, the theory of traditional Chinese medicine holds that the spleen and stomach are the ocean of water and the source of qi and blood biochemistry. The growth and development of the human body, as well as all life-sustaining substances, depend on the spleen and stomach, so there is a saying that the spleen and stomach are the foundation of the day after tomorrow.
How to maintain the spleen and stomach in daily life?
First of all, keep a good mood. Bad mood can lead to loss of appetite, bloating, belching and indigestion, while good mood is beneficial to the normal operation of the spleen and stomach.
Secondly, the diet should be regular. Including the time of eating should be regular, that is, three meals should be timed; Eat regularly at each meal, and don't overeat. At the same time, the variety of food should also follow the requirements of nutrition, mainly vegetarian, with a small amount of meat dishes. Eat more fruits and less irritating and indigestible foods.
Third, avoid catching a cold. As the saying goes, "Ten stomach ailments and nine colds." Pay attention to the cold weather and food. When the climate changes frequently in spring and autumn, pay attention to keep your stomach warm; Try to eat less cold food. If you feel cold in the upper abdomen, you can take ginger tea in time.
Always care for the spleen and stomach when treating diseases.
Pay attention to the maintenance of the spleen and stomach, not only in daily life, but also during and after illness. Zhang Zhongjing knows well that the spleen and stomach are the hub of the kidney. Almost every treatment in Treatise on Febrile Diseases contains the method of protecting stomach qi, and each side has the product of nourishing stomach.
On the basis of syndrome differentiation, Zhang Zhongjing often adopts the principle of "attacking without blocking, stopping the middle disease" to protect stomach qi. For example, when taking antiperspirants such as Guizhi Decoction, it is suggested that if you sweat after taking one dose of medicine, you can stop taking the latter dose without having to eat it all; When taking Daqinglong decoction, I also warned that "those who sweat should stop taking it". Because it is easy to damage the qi of the spleen and stomach while developing the principles of resolving phlegm, relaxing muscles and eliminating evil. If we can "stop the disease halfway" and pay attention to protecting gastric juice, we can maintain the normal function of the spleen and stomach. For another example, after taking laxatives such as Dachengqi Decoction, Xiaochengqi Decoction and Daxianzhong Decoction, Zhang Zhongjing also warned that if there is stool after taking it, don't take the rest of the medicine. Zhang Zhongjing also said that after vomiting, don't take the rest of the medicine. Attacking agents are most likely to damage the spleen and stomach. If the spleen and stomach are injured and vital qi is not supported, then the disease will be difficult to cure, so we should stop attacking. Once you take too much, it will hurt yang and stomach.
Zhang Zhongjing also pointed out that when using drugs such as rhubarb and peony, the dosage should be reduced. This is because people's stomach qi is very weak and easily damaged. The purpose of proper use is to prevent the spleen and stomach from being damaged, which will lead to the damage of vital qi and eventually lead to other diseases.
After recovery, Zhang Zhongjing also emphasized maintaining stomach qi through diet control. If the illness has been relieved, but there are slight symptoms of irritability at night, it is because the illness has just recovered and I have eaten a lot of meals. The newly recovered patient, whose spleen and stomach are still weak, can't digest too much food, so there will be a slight irritability, that is, "food recovery." At this time, you should reduce your diet and regulate your spleen and stomach. After the spleen and stomach function is restored, the symptoms will be alleviated. The above methods fully illustrate the importance of caring for stomach qi.

In Treatise on Febrile Diseases, there are nearly 100 kinds of dietary care methods, involving a wide range of foods, such as barley, wheat, japonica rice, red beans and so on. There are livestock and poultry, such as black-bone chicken, egg white, mutton and so on. There are also fructose, such as jujube, maltose, honey and so on. There are vegetables, such as onions and ginger. There are alcoholic beverages, such as sake, white wine, bitter wine (rice vinegar) and French vinegar (vinegar), which are common foods on people's daily tables.
Daily health care can not be separated from a reasonable diet. Zhang Zhongjing knew this very well, and once created the first cold-dispelling prescription-Danggui Ginger Mutton Soup. This prescription is contained in the book synopsis of the golden chamber. Danggui Ginger Mutton Soup consists of mutton, ginger and Danggui. Among them, Angelica sinensis is a commonly used blood-enriching drug in traditional Chinese medicine, which is mild in nature and has the effects of promoting blood circulation, nourishing blood and enriching blood. Ginger can warm the middle-warmer, dispel cold, sweat and relieve exterior syndrome; Mutton is warm, which can warm the middle and tonify the deficiency. Mutton, ginger and angelica have the functions of warming the middle warmer, enriching blood, dispelling cold and relieving pain, and are good food supplements with the same origin of medicine and food.
From the treatment point of view, Danggui Ginger Mutton Soup has a wide range of indications, which can be used for cold hernia, abdominal pain, hypochondriac pain, etc., and can also be used for postpartum conditioning, such as abdominal cold pain caused by women's weakness of qi and blood due to yang deficiency, lack of milk due to blood deficiency, and lochia. As a medicated diet, Danggui Ginger Mutton Soup is especially suitable for people with deficiency-cold constitution. For anemia patients who are afraid of cold, elderly patients with chronic bronchitis and malnutrition caused by chronic diarrhea, this soup can be used as a medicated diet for auxiliary conditioning. In winter, especially in the north, the weather is cold and the human body is weak and cold. Therefore, eating angelica and ginger mutton soup from time to time is conducive to improving the body's immunity and avoiding diseases such as colds.
In life, if each of us can realize the importance of the spleen and stomach, we can "treat the disease before it happens" at ordinary times, and prevent it as early as possible, which can largely avoid the occurrence of acute and severe diseases, and not only gain our own health, but also greatly save the medical expenses of the country, which can be said to be beneficial to the country and the people.
