Where is Shilipu?

Lipu, a place name familiar to Wuhan people, is located on Hanyang Avenue, about 5 kilometers east of Zhongjia Village and 1 km west of Longyang Avenue. But not everyone who is familiar with Shilipu knows the origin of its name, and even many white-haired old people who have lived here for a long time are not very clear about the origin of Shilipu. Gushilipu is a post station ten miles away from Hanyang Prefecture (county). People carrying official documents and officials come and go, and they have to stop to change horses on the way. Gu, a adherent of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, wrote in "The Road to the Sun": "Today, ten miles and one shop are set up to deliver official documents." Therefore, Hanyang Shilipu should be the first stop for Hanyang county (county) to enter Beijing. 100 years ago, Shilipu gradually formed a preliminary market town pattern from a post station, covering an area of 85,000 square meters. These two streets are cross-shaped, the main street is on the present Hanyang Avenue, and the horizontal street diagonally crosses the main street from northeast to southwest. Stroll through Shilipu, from the intersection to the south, cross Mohe Lake Road, the ramp twists and turns, and appreciate the artistic conception of the ancient road. If you look at the old Shilipu main street, Hanyang Avenue is busy today, with people coming and going, large-scale shopping malls, shopping centers and building materials markets standing along the street, and the modern urban atmosphere is overwhelming the noise of the former station.
